I am returned to serve my killer!
~ Atakhan
A nameless aberration towered above them in the smoke-filled chamber. The mages chanted in discordant chorus, dread their voices reaching a strained, fevered pitch. The monster breathed deep of their mounting fear, and each breath brought it terrible power.
~ Atakhan's description in Legends of Runeterra.

Atakhan, also known as the Bringer of Ruin, is an antagonist in the League of Legends universe.

Once a servant of the Iron Revenant Mordekaiser, Atakhan was imprisoned by LeBlanc following the dark lord's defeat. Bound by magic, he is now used by the Black Rose as a weapon, unable to rest as he is forced to do the bidding of his greatest enemy.

He is voiced by Darin De Paul, who also voices Quan Chi in Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge, Emperor Valkorion in Star Wars: The Old Republic, Ardyn Izunia in the Final Fantasy series, Trade Prince Gallywix in World of Warcraft: Legion, Samuel Hayden in 2016's Doom, Zeron Alpha in 3Below, and Bular in Wizards.

Biography[]

Lore[]

The demon known as Atakhan was once a servant of the dark lord Mordekaiser. He was one of two great beasts (alongside Tybaulk) that would destroy anything in their master's way to ensure his dominion over the Immortal Bastion, and the enduring legacy of his empire of death. After Mordekaiser's downfall, the demon was destroyed and was soon brought back as a servant of LeBlanc, who forced him into submission by weakening his power. While Tybaulk was able to escape the Black Rose's agents, Atakhan was not. He was sealed away into a giant suit of armor, where he would be bound to do the bidding of Black Rose mages. Tireless, Atakhan continuously plots his escape against the Rose, awaiting the return of his true master so he may have revenge against LeBlanc once and for all.

Trivia[]

  • Atakhan was originally only a card in Legends of Runeterra. He would later be added to League of Legends as a jungle monster in 2025.
