Athanasia’s story took a significant turn after the fall of Superman's authoritarian regime, which had imposed harsh measures on the world. In the aftermath of this regime's collapse, Athanasia emerged from the shadows. She joined her mother, Talia, and her grandfather, Ra's al Ghul, in a grand scheme to reclaim the Earth. They believed that humanity was on a path to self-destruction and sought to restore balance through their radical methods.

The League of Assassins, under their command, set up a secret base deep in the Amazon Rainforest. It was here that they planned their operations, away from the prying eyes of the world. Batman, always vigilant and determined to thwart Ra's al Ghul's plans, discovered their base and confronted them. In the ensuing battle, an intense fight broke out between Batman and the League's members.

During this confrontation, the metahuman El Diablo unleashed a powerful explosion. Athanasia, caught in the blast, was seemingly killed as she was not shielded from the impact. This event was a devastating blow to Talia and Ra's, as they lost a valuable and beloved member of their family.
