Atros, better known as Atrocitus, is a supporting antagonist in Injustice 2, the second installment of the Injustice franchise.

Biography

During the invasion of Atlantis, Atrocitus attempted to manipulate Hal Jordan’s mind to recruit him as a member of the Red Lanterns, but his efforts ultimately failed. After capturing Bane and Cheetah, a portal opened, revealing Atrocitus and Dex-Starr, while Aquaman returned to defend his people.

Hal soon realized that Atrocitus was invading his thoughts. Atrocitus explained that ever since Hal joined the Sinestro Corps to atone for his past crimes, he had sensed a spark of rage within him. Normally, they would have killed someone like Hal, but Atrocitus saw potential in that rage. He and Dex-Starr used a stream of vomit to distract Hal as they attempted to fit a Red Lantern ring onto his finger, intending to harness his anger.

Despite the allure of the Red Lantern powers, Hal struggled to overcome his feelings of guilt and betrayal towards the Green Lantern Corps and his friends. He questioned how he could ever forgive himself. The ring nearly slipped onto his finger, but Hal mustered the strength to reject it. In a moment of clarity before the battle, he admitted to Atrocitus that he hated himself for his past actions. However, he realized that his willpower, fueled by his desire to overcome hatred, was stronger.

Ultimately, Hal Jordan defeated Atrocitus, who, despite his loss, recognized that Hal still harbored rage within him. As he retreated with Dex-Starr, Atrocitus warned that when Hal’s world turned to ashes, he would find himself begging for vengeance He and Dex-Starr returned to base.
