Professor Ayanokōji or Atsuomi Ayanokōji is the overarching antagonist of the manga, anime and light novel series Classroom of the Elite. He is the father of Kiyotaka Ayanokōji, the ex-husband of Mika as well as the founder and current leader of the White Room organization.

He is voiced by Yasunori Matsutani in Japanese and by Christopher R. Sabat in English.

Personality[]

As the father of Kiyotaka, he appears to care and is proud of his son but rather in a view as if he was his creation, a masterpiece that he created rather than in a familial. Furthermore, he admitted he is aware that his Kiyotaka won’t get tricked by any of his fatherly signs from himself, which is why he didn't make such an attempt.

Nevertheless, he never appeared to have any exceptional abilities as stated by Chairman Sakayanagi despite having a deeper desire and fighting ego more than anyone.

Biography[]

Background[]

He appeared to be a sadistic, but calm politician who was not neither a very good father. Having used others like Mika to have a child with him, which she would later give birth to Kiyotaka. He wanted his child to be the success of the White Room or become a politician to become the minister of Japan. Like his wife, both of them have ever graduated from a high-ranking university, neither having any outstanding talents as well as their family members. 20 years earlier, Professor Ayanokoji founded the organization named the “White Room” an organization that focus on creating an advanced system of education for future generation to lead Japan. Some time after founding the organization, he placed his own son into the program and the latter excelled in every course, being Atsuomi's masterpiece and the latter believed that Kiyotaka would be the ruler of Japan in the future.

The White Room was temporarily shut down for a year for an unknown reason, which Kiyotaka took an opportunity to escape the facility along with help of Matsuo, his butler. His son then attended to Advanced Nurturing High School. Thanks to Sakayanagi, the chairman of the school, he approved and allowed Kiyotaka to study at the school as an exception, despite not having his name on the list. Since he knows his father and has great respect for him. Later on in Volume 7, he makes his first appearance where he came to Advanced Nurturing High School to meet Kiyotaka to order him to come back to the White Room. He swore to bring back his son to his organization no matter what, as Kiyotaka refused. Atsuomi then confronted Chairman Sakayanagi who revealed the reason he inducted Kiyotaka into the school and Atsuomi told him to watch his son. It is later revealed Atsuomi was not done with trying to bring his son back, as he latter had someone temporarily replace Chairman Sakayanagi and placed several candidates from the White Room into the school. During volume 0 of the novel, it is then revealed that Atsuomi had gotten children into the White Room, through the black market and many of them were abandoned as are products of their adultery, as well as having used Kiyotaka for his plans.

During the time when Kiyotaka made his escape from the White Room, Atsuomi targeted the Matsuo family, which he fired the butler and then targeted his son, Eiichirō Matsuo. Atsuomi caused Eiichirō to get repeatedly expelled from prestigious schools, by making up false evidence. He also ruined his career life and could only get part-time jobs. It got to the point that Eiichirō's father begged Atsuomi to leave his son alone and committed suicide by setting himself on fire, and for Eiichirō because Atsuomi ruined his life as he also committed suicide. In volume 7 he tried to pin the butler's death onto Kiyotaka, but failed. Later on during the end of Kiyotaka's first year and the beginning of his second year in High School. Atsumoi has sent people like Ichika Amasawa and Takuya Yagami likes to the school to try to get Kiyotaka expelled.

Volume 0[]

At the start of Volume 0, Atsuomi was already a politician who worked for Ninosuke Naoe. Which he did by doing dirtier tasks. At the birth of his son Kiyotaka, Atsuomi asks doctors to take photo of him for significant publicity. A few years before Kiyotaka's birth, as Atsuomi was waiting for Naoe to arrive, Kamegawa ask him if he is able to accept someone like Naoe all the time and replies that he would not be much without him. As Naoe arrived along with a young woman, they go to a private room to where he tells Atsuomi and Kamegawa that he is the first nobody to have been successfully able to climb as he observed. The topic then moves on about Kijima and the New Advanced Nurturing High School. He then gives a document with the title "Human Resource Development plan", an idea for a strict education that nurture childrens soon after their birth. Kamegawa then asks that not everyone would give away their children, but Atsuomi reminds him that hundredth of childrens would be abandoned every year but Naoe adds that powerful peoples tends to have kids with multiple women as they did not want the public to find out about.

Some time after, they visits a business man named Kaenagi, the son of the one that operates the Advanced Nurturing High School. However he reminds them that his name cannot be a part involved with their scheme. Atsuomi later on meets Kaenagi in a mansion where he tells him that he needs to know more about the business world so that he can find bankers. He then reveals the idea about the education on childrens that Naoe gave him. Kaenagi asks why he should report the idea to Kijimo-sensei, to which Atsuomi tells him that Naoe trusts him. Kaenagi agreed to help him but in return of a front row seat when the projects starts. Later on, Atsuomi is interrupted in his sleep when Kamegawa breaks into his office, announcing that he found the perfect facility to start their project. Atsuomi asks if the building needs any renovation and if he is ready to become a criminal to which Kamegawa agrees. At night in a club, he almost falls alseep before getting interrupted by his girlfriend, Mika who tells suggests him that he should try to relax a bit. Atsuomi then hands her a over a few photos, asking her if she knows any of the mens on them, to which Mika denies however one of her colleague does. Ayanokoji then tells her that he wants to meet all seven of the men on the photo and also by satisfying Naoe in return of some cashes. A few months later, Kamegawa tells Atsuomi that the facility is done with its renovation, which was sooner then he excepted. Kamegawa then asks him how he was able to earn 400 million yen from bankers, which Atsuomi reveals him that the facility will be known as the White Room.
