Auber Corvette is a major antagonist of the anime, manga, and light novel series Mushoku Tensei. He is the teacher of Eris Greyrat and a subordinate/assassin of Darius Ganius, the Prime Minister of the Asura Kingdom.
Personality[]
Auber is a cruel man that likes to take as much as advantage as he can over anyone he targets such as claming the life of anyone whenever they are not cautious around him as well as liking to land suprise attacks on his victims.
Biography[]
Auber attempted three times to assassinate second princess of the Asura Kingdom Princess Ariel Anemoi Asura, but all of them resulted in failure because Rudeus Greyrat prevented him from doing so every time. This led him to now target Rudeus. He attempted to land a suprise attack on the adventurer, but was startled to see Rudeus somehow managing to evade it.
The assassin rushed at him once again after them having chatted a bit, with Rudeus being confused by his hostility. Quickly, Rudeus attacked him with Zaliff Gauntlet. Auber then tried to escape just as Ghislaine Dedoldia was about to arrive at the scene where he demonstrated impressive reflexes by successfully evading Rudeus' attack.
In the process of fleeing, Auber expelled oil from his ignited sword, creating a flamethrower-esque weapon. Through the combination of oil and flames on his weapon, he was capable of emitting a continuous stream of fire towards Rudeus, establishing a barrier.
Auber made a second attempt to kill Rudeus. In order to do so, he used his camouflage ability to match the color of the wall that he planned to stick on to ambush Rudeus, waiting for the right opportunity to strike.
However, the adventurer was aware of his presence and that he would eventually be attacked again by the assassin, so he summoned a Lamplight Spirit to track down his location. Eventually he spotted the assassin and immediately launched a life-threatening attack on Auber, who was able to react fast enough to save himself, but at the of cost of a part his leg. Despite the loss of a body part, he still managed to evade another attack from Rudeus effortlessly. At the same time Luke Greyrat, Rudeus' cousin, happened to rush onto the battle scene.
This is when his two allies were defeated, with Nuckleguard being killed by Eris and Wii Taa, who managed to retreat by lauching a bomb that caused a smoke screen to blind his opponent Ghislaine, but still sustained grave injuries after facing her.
Taking his chance of the momentary timelapse, Auber once again managed to escape defeat and completely recover before making his final act to claim the life of the princess.
Upon infiltrating into the event, Reida Reia immediately immobilizes all guests by unleashing her Water God secret spell to a large part of the area. Auber knew that it was time for him to act, to assassinate Rudeus and Ariel. However, before doing so, Orsted swiftly took down Reida after she ordered Auber to cover Darius the best he could as he helped him to escape the place. Ghislaine, Eris, and Rudeus are also ordered by Ariel to go after Darius and his bodyguard.
In his decisive assassination, Auber disguised himself as a bodyguard named of his mentor Darius, positioning himself strategically at an pivotal event that included many well-known nobles of the Asura kingdom present. This lavish gathering brought together the most influential nobles and key figures vying for the throne of the Asura Kingdom. Engaging in some light banter with Rudeus, Auber ironically "apologized" for the previous cowardly attempts on Ariel's life, all the while knowing that he was the mastermind behind those schemes.
Soon, they began clashing against Auber in an outnumbered disadvantage in battle for him upon arriving somewhere nearby the residence of the king. Auber immobilizes all three of them by generating a glue substance on the ground and takes the opportunity to charge toward at Rudeus soon after he breaks the sticky substance and even manage to land a hit on Eris by ambushing her with a surprise attack with one of his poisonous weapon that was hidden behind his generated fireball. Rudeus takes the chance to launch a stone-based spell, his Burst Stone Cannon at Darius but is chopped by Auber but is startled with the spell possessing an exploding ability that was eventually able to hurt Darius. He soon blocks Eris’ Longsword of Light sent flying at him that he again managed to block just in time, only receiving a tiny wound on his arm. However, little did he know that the small wound was poisonous that eventually gave Ghislaine her opportunity to finish off Auber by severing his flank, leading him to his demise.

Equipments[]
- Oils: Auber can ignite flames on his sword after spitting some oils on it and with incantation that results in a flame thrower-like weapon.
- Poisonous Tiny Daggers: Auber launches poisonous daggers that resemble kunais at his targets with highly precise aim.
- Tear Gas Pouch: Can result in his victim to sneeze non-stop. The effects have especially greater impacts on beastmens. Metallic Claws: Allowing him to climb on solid walls and can also be attached to a rope to be used as a grappling hook that he can use to climb to wherever he desires to climb to.
- Magic Cloaks: With the use of a green and brown coak, Auber can switch from seemingly whatever distance he desires depending on the location of the cloaks are placed.
