Augments are high-ranking members of the Shocker organization and major antagonists in Shin Kamen Rider. Each has been cybernetically remodeled and infused with the Prana of a particular animal.
History[]
Augments were the culmination of Shocker's research into achieving human happiness. Each Augment was created through a combination of both cybernetic and biological modification infusing them with the Prana of a specific animal. Experiments were also done to infuse humans with the Prana of plants but were far less successful, with the Sarracenian Augment perishing upon the completion of his remodeling surgery.
While some Augments underwent the process willingly, others were kidnapped and forced to undergo it. Takeshi Hongo and Hayato Ichimonji were both kidnapped and forced to undergo a remodeling process which infused them with grasshopper Prana, transforming them into Batta Augments 01 and 02. However, both would eventually rebel against Shocker and fight to stop them.
