I've sacrificed everything searching for it... A world within a story whispered to me centuries ago... Of a timeless power... Infinte in knowledge. Voracious in hunger. The Entity. A realm so close to ours, but always out of reach. Until i found him. Frank Stone. My key. My killer. I am Augustine Lieber. And i'm about to change our worlds forever.
~ Augustine's intro monologue.
Giving them the Camera, I admit, was unfair, even for me. They couldn't know what power they held in their hands. Nor the cruelty awaits them in the steel mill. But what true creator wouldn't suffer for their art?
~ Augustine Lieber.

Augustine Lieber is the main antagonist in The Casting of Frank Stone. She is a member of the Black Vale who tried to get the Entity's attention by manipulating and grooming Frank Stone to become a killer worthy of the Entity.

She was voiced and motion captured by Hannah Morrish.

Biography[]

Background[]

It is unknown when Augustine was born, although according to her she is centuries old. She ended up discovering the existence of the Entity who possessed timeless power and infinite knowledge she wanted to gain. To attract its attention she decided to find the perfect killer for its realm. She also found a way to travel through time and reality in order to manipulate all the realities and recruit different versions of her.

Augustine would find her killer in the persona of Franklin Norman Stone, an ex-convict working at the Cedar Steel Mill. She acted as his psychologist for several years and groomed him into believing that he had a higher calling as a merciless serial killer who was devoted to her goal of summoning The Entity just as much as she was.

Her plans were unknowingly foiled in 1963 by a young police officer named Sam Green, who found Frank in the middle of trying to sacrifice an infant. In the ensuring struggle, Frank was shot in the head by Sam, falling into the active furnace and impaled on the sharp molten spikes that lay inside hard enough to remove his lower jaw. But Augustine realises that Frank's essence was burned into the foundations of the mill itself.

In 1980, an older version of Augustine bought a curiosity shop in Cedar Hills in order to give a special camera to a group of teenager filming a amateur horror film, Murder Mill, in the Cedar Steel Mill. This camera would end up resurrecting Frank's spirit after fiming body parts of his victims. Frank then stalks the film crew in the Mill and potentially kills them. It is only thanks to the efforts of the survivors and an older Sheriff Sam Green that Frank's spirit is sealed within the filmstrip of Murder Mill itself using the camera that freed him. The survivors decide to split the film up so Frank can never return.

The Casting of Franke Stone[]

In the following years, Augustine plotted to free Frank from the film and complete her original ritual to summon the Entity. Using the power of her horologium to explore other worlds in the omniverse, Augustine began collecting all the possible versions of the Murder Mill film that could exist, each of them housing enough of Frank's spirit that put together would allow him to manifest.

In 2024, a now younger looking Augustine contacts the 3 people in possession of the 3 last Murder Mill film parts. After meeting the 3 person, Madison (the daughter of one of the crew member), Linda (one of the film's crew member) and Stan (who took the part from one of the crew member), at the Gerant Manor, Augustine took their film parts to unite all of them in order to free Frank Stone. During the night, an older Sam Green arrives at the Manor in order to stop her plans once again, an older version of Augustine is also comes out of the horologium.

Eventually, Augustine manages to put all the film strips together and unleashes Frank Stone onto the survivors. Now returned to life but as a monster, Frank uses his new powers to kill and absorb one of the group to return to full strength. He then hunts the remaining survivors through the Manor, potentially killing them, before joining Augustine outside. With the Entity successfully summoned and on the cusp of devouring the world itself, Frank suddenly betrays Augustine and strucks her down, allowing the Entity to claim her soul and the other offerings that were (possibly) alongside her.

In the post-credit scene, the older Augustine is seen bringing another younger version of her through the horologium.
