Aura, or infamously referred as Aura the Guillotine, is a major antagonist from the adventure manga and anime series Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, serving as the titular main antagonist of the Aura the Guillotine Arc.
She is a member of the Seven Sages of Destruction, the servants of the Demon King. After the death of the Demon King, she sent her own servants, Lügner, Linie, and Draht to have civilians of Graf Granat's Domain surrounded by erasing the barrier protecting the city.
She was voiced by Ayana Taketatsu in Japanese and Corey Pettit in English.
Appearance[]
Aura is a petite female demon with dark blue irises and long pink hair tied in two large pinks which is furthermore divided into three smaller braids at her shoulder. She wears two golden necklaces on her neck and a revealing dark blue outfit for the rest of her body. Her lower arms wore dark blue opera gloves. From her cleavage and abdomen, she wore a cloth that revealed her belly button along with a large pink frilly cape attached surrounding the back of her waist and white skirt. Her legs wore white striped dark blue leggings connected to her shoes.
Personality[]
As a demon, Aura had naturally not any form of emotions present in her. She was a selfish and power-hungry demon. She only harbored loyalty toward the Demon King and could not care any less for the loss of her own servants upon learning that Lügner, Linie, and Draht all failed their plans. Among the rare people of her kinds, she is more careful, leading her to flee instead of sacrificing herself during her battle against the Hero Party, whom she knew she stood no chance. Nevertheless, she still had a high belief in her magic to be powerful enough to reach her goals and continue her legacy.
Background[]
Aura worked as a servant for the Demon King along with the rest of the Seven Sages of Destruction five centuries prior. With the victims who were under the impact of her magic, she led her own army. Often referred to as Aura the Guillotine, she was infamous for cruelly beheading any victims who had resistance against the influence of her magic, thus gaining the title. She remained hidden after retreating during her battle against the Hero Party who succeeded in defeating the Demon King. For about 50 years, she was nowhere to be found until the death of a famous member of the Hero Party, Himmel finally died.
A decade later, she launched a battle against civilians of the city of Graf Granat's Domain located in the Nothern Lands. Among the tragedies, the head of the city, Graf Granat was frustrated of the death of his son who participated in the war. She then decides to send three of her servants Lügner, Linie, and Draht to offer peace for the town for forgiveness. However, in reality, she actually intends to take down the barrier protecting the town. Lügner is subsequently found by Frieren who imprisoned her, seeing her as a threat to his plans for Aura. Her servants were later defeated by Frieren and her successors, Fern and Stark.
