Austin Drake is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Promising Young Gentlemen". He is a member of the Bishop Club, a final club at Hudson University who are a group of misogynistic rapists.
He was portrayed by Trey Fitts.
Biography[]
He is part of the Bishop Club at Hudson University where he and his fellow members prey on female students, all of them being violent and bigoted misogynists to assault women out of hatred. He and he is friends spike the drink of fellow student, Annabel Nelson before bringing her up to the stairs to a ceremonial room. There, Austin's friends pin her down while he rapes her, with the group writing misogynistic and degrading messages on her body and taking pictures. This leaves her heavily traumatized and once she gets back to her dorm, she scrubs her body and tells her roommate what happened, who helps her report it by telling her uncle, Dominick Carisi.
SVU investigates what happened happened, talking with Annabel who explains what was done to her, leading the detectives to investigate the Bishop Club. Austin and his friends blame the girls by claiming that they hate men and are lying. The Bishop Club continuously mocks Annabel and puts her face on a blow-up doll, wanting to further humiliate her. The detectives learn that Detective Andy Parlato-Goldstein had been part of the Bishop Club and get him to go undercover to talk to Austin and the others. Austin and his friends perform their misogynistic chant which reveals they are woman-hating rapists and confessing to their crimes, allowing them to be arrested, Carisi having a way to punish the Bishop Club for hate crimes in addition to rape.
Carisi and Parlato-Goldstein speak with Austin and his attorney, who questions Parlato-Goldstein about his past involvement with the Bishop Club, though he explains it did not used to target girls to rape them. Austin makes an anti-semitic comment to Parlato-Goldstein, though Carisi warns him that he will reintroduce the hate crime charge if he continues. Austin and his friends are imprisoned for their crimes.
Personality[]
Austin is a bigoted, arrogant, cruel, and entitled misogynistic who takes pleasure in committing violating and degrading women. In addition to being a misogynist, he shows to be a massive bigot in general, insulting Andy Parlato-Goldstein for being Jewish.
