“ | Zordon: I believe it is an Autochthon monster. Rocky: A what-a-thon monster? Billy: An Autochthon. It’s one of the earliest inhabitants of the land. It’s got to be thousands of years old. Tanya: But Zordon, aren’t monsters like that just myth? Zordon: No, Tanya. The creature must’ve been formed from the evil inside the cave. Undoubtedly, it’s motives are different than that of the Machine Empire. |

Biography[]
Past[]
“ | Tommy, David is in a place of great danger. Legend says an ancient tribe used this cave to bury its evil forever. No one can last long inside of it. | „ |
~ Sam Trueheart about Autochthon's imprisonment. |
The Autochthon that appeared in Zeo was merely one of many such creatures that were the earliest inhabitants of modern day southern California. Thousands of years ago, this Autocthon was one of many evil spirits that tormented an ancient Native American tribe; renowned for their evil powers and mischief. However, the spirits were all sealed in a mystical arrowhead and this Autochthon was eventually sealed away in a cave under a reservation by "a great warrior." Trapped in hibernation, Autochthon spent millennia trapped as a cave painting on the wall until he passed into Native American legend; something Sam Trueheart became aware of.
Zeo[]
In 1996, with the intent to harnessing the power of Tommy Oliver's arrowhead for himself, King Mondo of the Machine Empire has his Cogs kidnap David Trueheart and trap the man in the same cave where Autochthon and his kind are kept. After the Zeo Rangers split up to find David and fight Mace Face though, the "cave paintings" begin glowing and begin reviving Autochthon since David's presence is enough to revive him.
Soon after the destruction of Mace Face, Autochthon finally awakens and attacks David for awakening him only for him and the human to be teleported out of the cave by Mondo who expresses interest in using the creature. The Zeo Rangers quickly arrive to rescue David and destroy Autochthon only for Cogs and then Mondo to arrive and help him so the Rangers just rescue David and leave. Autochthon retreats with the Machine Empire and decides to work with them, hiding in the Machine Skybase until being sent back by Klank after Tommy retrieves his arrowhead and renders Mondo's plan to control the spirits inside the arrowhead a failure.
Sent to retrieve the arrowhead, Autochthon confronts the Rangers at Angel Grove Beach where he blasts them only for Tanya to overwhelm him with her energy kick and Zeo II Power Clubs before they defeat Autochthon with the Zeo Spinning Power Kick. Klank and Orbus enlarge Autochthon despite initially wondering if it would even work so so the Zeo Rangers form the Zeo Megazord only to be restrained and electrified in Autochthon's silk and streamers. Tommy summons the Red Battlezord and, with its star blasts, they knock back the monster and free the Zeo Megazord before overwhelming him with the gatling blasts and the Zeo II Battle Helmet. With Autochthon unfazed by either, the Zeo Rangers form the Zeo MegaBattlezord and destroy him for good with its powerful cannons.
Personality[]
Autochthon was a vengeful and spiteful creature who became extremely angry when he was woken up as seen when David's presence revived him. Although he acted extremely confused when he met King Mondo and his Cogs, he quickly warmed up to them and helped them try to destroy the Zeo Rangers. Despite everything, he did apparently have manners since he thanked Orbus for reviving and enlarging him.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: When giant, Autochthon was able to knock around the Zeo Megazord with single smacks.
- Headbutt: Autochthon could also perform a powerful headbutt which knocked back the Zeo Megazord.
- Durability: Autochthon survived Tanya's energy kick and Zeo II Power Club attacks without a scratch. When giant, he withstood multiple punches from the Zeo Megazord, the Red Battlezord's star blasts, the Battlezord's gatling guns and the Zeo II Battle Helmet without a scratch.
- Longevity: Billy mentioned that the Autochthon must have been thousands of years old and yet the monster was still very capable.
- Lightning Streams: Autochthon's strongest attack where he could shoot streams of rainbow colored lightning beams from the circles on top of his neck. These beams caused massive explosions and took down all five Zeo Rangers in just one blast.
- Lightning Blasts: Autochthon could fire powerful streams of blue lightning from the tips on his chest. These were powerful enough to cause large explosions and knock down the Zeo Rangers.
- Silk Spit: Autochthon could spit white streamers from his mouth that were capable of restraining his enemies and rendering them powerless. These were strong enough to leave the Zeo Megazord completely defenceless.
- Streamer Flinging: Autochthon could rear his hands back and throw yellow and purple silk over his enemies to restrain them even more.
- Electrocution: Autochthon could then electrify his streamers with blue lightning from his fingers to electrocute his enemies.
Arsenal[]
- Fists: Despite lacking any weapons of his own, Bara Clothes fought with his bare hands.

Trivia[]
- In Ohranger, Autochthon was a monster created by and serving the Machine Empire instead of just working with them.
- This was changed to tie into the four-episode arc about Tommy's Native American ties and because most of his Sentai footage involved the unmorphed Ohrangers.
