The Awakened are the main antagonists of the 2024 Halloween event in the 2023 Roblox game Tower Defense X.
They are a sub faction of Calamity's army that attempted to end humanity after the GDA interfered with their resources.
Biography[]
At an unknown date, the GDA entered Hell to obtain Calamity Crystals, likely to use them to power the golden towers seen in game. This provoked the Awakened for unknown reasons.
Chapter 1[]
The GDA set up a forward operating base next to what appears to be a fortress. The Heretic and his horde attempt to attack the base. During the battle, the Heretic attempts to manipulate the Commander into joining the Awakened. Ultimately, the Heretic is defeated and presumably killed.
Chapter 2[]
The GDA launch an assault on Factorium, one of the Awakened's factories. The Engineer and his army, including some Predators stolen from Dr. Xenon, arrive through a portal to "claim" the GDA. The Engineer is eventually defeated and his production lines are stopped.
Meanwhile, the horde overrun and destroy the GDA's forward operating base.
Chapter 3[]
The last surviving GDA artillery crew attempt to shoot down a floating citadel that is presumably what allows the Awakened to invade earth. However, they are attacked by the horde. The Eradicator MK II also returns, damaged after its previous defeat in Expert mode. After the Commander defeats the horde and Eradicator MK II, the artillery crew shoot the citadel, destroying it and ending the invasion.
Chapter 4[]
The GDA's last surviving base is surrounded by the remaining members of the Awakened. During the battle, they encounter the Engineer's final creation, the Corrupted Apex Predator. With most of the Awakened deceased, The Wretched themself arrive in a last effort to destroy the GDA. The Wretched is eventually killed, ending the war.
