Biography[]
Elina, togeher with her husband, wanted to rob the ancient Aztec pyramid in the Mexican town Cinco of all its treasures. So, the pair disguised themselves as a living Aztec Statue and the Ghost of King Katazuma respectively, to scare the citizens of Cinco away. They used a projector to make it look like Katazuma was 50-feet tall. Now alone, they could freely steal anything from the pyramid.
When Mystery Inc. arrives to Cinco they see the Aztec Statue and, due to the darkness of the night, believe it's a person. Shaggy and Scooby goes up to ask for directions to the hotel, only to realize it's not a human and scream in fear. Velma tries calming them down, assuring them that it's only a stone statue of an Aztec god. When Scooby goes to unpack from the Mystery Machine the Aztec Statue appears behind him and roars, scaring him senseless. He runs inside the hotel and the gang meets Juan Martinez, the hotel owner, who tell them that the fiesta is cancelled due to the Aztec Ghosts. Later, the Aztec Statue breaks in to Shaggy and Scooby's room at the hotel and chases after them, but they manage to hide from it. While hiding Mrs. and Mr. Stonehack appear. The gang starts talking with them and Professor Stonehack makes up a false story that he and his wife had accidentally angered Katazuma and that he now wanted revenge on the town of Cinco and that they are planning on leaving Cinco.
Later Mystery Inc. goes to investigate the Aztec pyramid to search for Professor Stonehack (who orchestrated a false kidnapping of himself). When running away from the pyramid , being scared off by King Katazuma, the Aztec Statue suddenly appears. Scooby tries to trick the Aztec Statue, but it ends up only angering it even more and the gang manages to hide in the bushes. Eventually the gang gets inside the pyramid and split up to search for clues. Shaggy and Scooby find a vaccum cleaner inside the pyramid and wonder why that would be in an Aztec temple. Suddenly, the Aztec Statue emerges and starts chasing the sleuths through the pyramid. Scooby digs an escape route for him and Shaggy and they reunite with the rest of the gang. When exiting the pyramid, the gang sees Katazuma and the Statue carrying artefacts on board a barge. They sneak on to the barge and find a secret channel full of stolen loot from the pyramid. Mystery Inc. devices a plan to capture the Aztec Statue and Katazuma. The plan initially fails but eventually both the Statue and Katazuma end up stranded in the river. Their masks slip off and the gang realizes the Stonehacks were the culprits all along. Mystery Inc. reveals the Stonehacks whole scheme, Elina Stonehack and her husband are both arrested and the town of Cinco can peacefully celebrate their fiesta.
Trivia[]
- In the unreleased PlayStation version of "Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights", the Aztec Statue Monster is one of the possible enemies in the Major Miner's Mining Town level, alongside the Ghost of King Katazuma. It looks different to its cartoon appearance, with a bigger size and a whole 'nother color scheme. It was eventually scrapped in the revamp of the game for unknown reasons.
- There is an impossible scene in which Scooby and Shaggy hides while being chased by the Aztec Statue. The Statue runs by them in one direction and merely seconds later both Elina Stonehack and her husband appear from the opposite direction. It would be impossible for Elina to switch from her Aztec disguise and come around from the other side in mere seconds.
