B.A. LeCarre is a minor antagonist from the original G.I. Joe series and the main antagonist of the episode "Raise the Flagg!". He is an insane chef, formerly of COBRA.
He was voiced by Dick Gautier, who also voiced Serpentor in the series.
History[]
B.A. LeCarre was a Cobra mess hall chef and helicarrier wing pilot. He claimed to have earned the nickname "Bon Appétit" because a few Strato-Vipers got ptomaine poisoning. After the sinking of the USS Flagg along with the Cobra helicarrier Trawler during the battle for the antimatter pod, LeCarre was unable to evacuate the Trawler, so he reprogrammed the remaining B.A.T.S. to help him and repurposed the ships into an underwater city. He used the pod's electricity to clean the water and lived off of kelp and seaweed grown nearby. For a while, he believed himself to be the only surviving member of Cobra.
Later, G.I. Joe sends its members Roadblock, Leatherneck and Wet Suit to salvage the antimatter pod, while Cobra sends Dreadnoks Zartan, Zarana and Zandar to also get it. After both parties reach the USS Flagg, they are taken prisoner by B.A. LeCarre and his B.A.T.S. LeCarre holds his own version of a court session, introducing himself and saying he is the sole survivor of Cobra. When Zartan tells him he is also allied with Cobra, LeCarre learns Cobra still exists and is angry they abandoned him. For "trespassing" into "LeCarre City", LeCarre sentences the Joes and Dreadnoks to forced labor in the kelp gardens.
When LeCarre tells Wet Suit to stop singing, Roadblock asks him what "B.A." stands for and he reveals how he got the nickname. He claims his B.A.T.S. do not mind his cooking and looks around his own "Cobraville", before musing he could use some new curtains. After stopping petty squabbles among the Joes and Dreadnoks, LeCarre orders for Zarana to be executed. Roadblock and Zartan stop the B.A.T.S. from killing her; after Roadblock challenges him, LeCarre orders for Roadblock to be executed alongside Zarana. At that moment however, depth charges are dropped underwater and shockwaves from the explosions rock the Flagg. As the Flagg is falling, LeCarre hits his head against a barrel, which causes him to come to his senses. He, the Joes and the Dreadnoks team up and use the antimatter pod to raise the Flagg to the surface. After they are rescued, LeCarre recovers in a decompression chamber with the Joes and presumably joins them.
