Bureau Of Official Texas Science Marine Technology Lab, abbreviated to B.O.O.T.S. (or pronounced BOOTS), are the main antagonists of Netflix and Nickelodeon's 2024 live-action/animated film, Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, the fourth installment in the SpongeBob SquarePants film series. It is an organization based in Galveston, Texas that experiments in the marine biology field. Sandy Cheeks used to be a worker at the organization.
The entirety of Bikini Bottom and its residents are scooped out of the ocean by a massive claw, which is revealed to be owned by B.O.O.T.S. Sandy Cheeks contacts her former B.O.O.T.S. colleagues, Kyle and Phoebe, through a computer. She connects to the B.O.O.T.S. website, where an advertisement reveals that B.O.O.T.S. is now united with a water park known as the Gushing Waters Water Park, and its CEO, Sue Nahmee, develops a toy called Sea Pals. After the call is cut off, Sandy and SpongeBob travel to B.O.O.T.S. in Texas to retrieve the residents of Bikini Bottom from Sue. Gliding off a plane, they almost reach the B.O.O.T.S. laboratory but are blown away by a tornado.
In the B.O.O.T.S. laboratory, Bikini Bottom is enclosed in a massive sphere, and everyone is gathered at the Krusty Krab. The top of the sphere opens, and food falls down, which a fish tastes. He praises it as delicious and free, prompting everyone to rush out of the Krusty Krab and gorge themselves. Phoebe catches Patrick and puts him into the gene machine. Kyle fishes out two more, Mr. Krabs and Squidward, who also go into the machine. Kyle and Phoebe activate the machine, allowing Patrick, Mr. Krabs, and Squidward to breathe on land. Sue calls in toy testers, two children who play roughly with them, throwing them and causing them pain.
Sandy and SpongeBob reach the Gushing Waters Water Park, and they arrive at B.O.O.T.S. through a sewage pipe. Phoebe finds SpongeBob, and Kyle hands him over to Sue. SpongeBob is put into a cloning machine where he transforms into smaller versions of him. Sue's dog, Cuda, knocks over the machine, releasing the clones. Kyle and Phoebe help Sandy break free from the cage and defeat Sue. After observing that the tiny SpongeBobs combine upon touch, everyone pushes them together. As the clones combine, the real SpongeBob emerges. With the help of Sandy's family, every sea creature escapes from the B.O.O.T.S. laboratory.
