Biography[]

SantaClaus3

B.Z. in his office

Not much is known about him except that he is known as Cornelia's "step-uncle". This suggests that he is Cornelia's uncle by marriage, not blood. Cornelia lives with B.Z., which also suggests he is her legal guardian. As Cornelia's parents are not seen in the movie, it is likely that they both died prior to the events of the film and was made to live with her aunt, who was her only living blood relative. After the death of Cornelia's aunt, the courts required B.Z. to care for Cornelia, having now been made a widower from Cornelia's legal guardian. While B.Z. feeds and shelters Cornelia, he seems to have little involvement in her upbringing otherwise.

B.Z. was first seen with his head of market research Dr. Eric Towzer, where they are subject to a government investigation. His company B.Z. Toys was under investigation due to unsafe products including a flammable doll and a panda filled with broken glass and nails amongst its stuffing. B.Z. claims they are isolated incidents that will not happen again, to which a senate chairman answers "Oh, you had better do better than that, Sir. You had better withdraw every toy you have on the market, or I will see to it personally that your license to manufacture and distribute in the United States is revoked!"

B.Z. leaves the hearing in a rotten mood, whereas Dr. Towzer is doubtful of the factory, citing multiple news reports about the negative publicity. Whereas Dr. Towzer is put upon by B.Z., he does seem to have a more realistic output. Meanwhile, while Patch is wandering New York City after leaving the North Pole in disgrace, he passes by a toy store with a display of B.Z. and some of his toys. An employee is seen removing the toys on display due to the recall, but Patch mistakes this for thinking that the toys are so popular they are selling like hotcakes, so he introduces himself to B.Z., considering him a toymaker on par with Santa Claus.

Together they make lollipops powered by special feed that makes Santa's reindeer fly, he also gives Patch the materials he needs to build the Patchmobile so he can make his deliveries just like Santa. Even though B.Z. was reluctant at first for Patch giving away the items free, he saw this as an opportunity to rebuild his image, but he still had something selfish in mind.

B.Z

B.Z. discussing his next idea with Patch.

With Christmas being over, B.Z. gets more greedier when he announces "Christmas 2" for March 25, asking Patch to increase the reindeer flying formula and make candy canes before he heads back to the North Pole.

B.Z. is telling Dr. Towzer how he has now beaten Santa Claus and will now be the new icon of Christmas. However, an orphan named Joe and Cornelia overhear their conversation. But Joe accidently sneezes and gives their position away. B.Z. then captures Joe and ties him up in his toy factory basement.

He later discovers from Dr. Towzer that the candy canes are unstable and will explode if in contact with heat. He decides to flee to Brazil and let Patch take the fall. However, Cornelia hears their conversation and writes to Santa for help.

Meanwhile Joe is rescued by Patch and thanks to the quick thinking of Cornelia and Santa, he and Joe are saved when the candy canes explode while they're driving to the North Pole in the Patchmobile.

B.Z.'s crimes are uncovered when Cornelia calls the police. The police arrest Dr. Towzer and his chauffeur Grizzard. Before they can arrest B.Z., he craftily eats some of the unstable candy canes to fly out of his office to escape the police but ends up flying up high into the sky after eating too many.

B.Z

B.Z. doomed to floating deep into space.

At the end of the film, B.Z., in spite of his pleas for help, is doomed to float off into the depths of space among the equally effected remains of the Patchmobile for eternity; never to be seen or heard from again. As there is no air in space, it is presumed that he eventually suffocated and died.
