Black Blossom, abbreviated as BB and also known as the Mysterious Black Magus, is a major character and mascot in Fate franchise. She is also the archenemy of Kiara Sessyoin.
She serves as the secondary antagonist of Fate/Extra CCC, being the final boss of the normal Far Side mode, and a supporting character in Fate/Grand Order.
In Fate/Grand Order, she is a supporting character in SE.RA.PH. - Deep-Sea Cyber-Nirvana, Epic of Remnant: Extra event, the main antagonist of Serva★Fes 2018: Servant Summer Festival! event, and the overarching protagonist of Yuga Kshetra: The Black Final God chapter.
Both of her Valentine scenarios depicts her as an antagonistic trickster as well. Her BB/GO counterpart serves as one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Zepar, one of the Demon Pillars) and the final boss of SE.RA.PH event.
She is voiced by Noriko Shitaya, who also voiced Sakura Matou, Dark Sakura and Kama.
Biography[]
Fate/Extra CCC[]
At the first glance, BB is apparently a mysterious girl who bears a striking resemblance to Sakura Matou. She claims to be a dangerous and unusual AI, but it's unclear as to who or what is responsible for her creation. After seizing control of the Moon Cell, she imposes her will over the "Far Side" by destroying the Holy Grail War and replacing it with the Sakura Labyrinth, the keys to which are hidden within the hearts of the Masters and Servants trapped there.
Her true identity is a mutation of the Sakura Caretaker AI that controls the Moon Cell. After Kiara Sessyoin hacked the Sakura AI and removed her behavioural constraints, Sakura fell in love with Hakuno Kishinami and placed him/her in a "Groundhog Day" Loop to prevent their inevitable death at the end of the Holy Grail War.
However, knowing that this was not a permanent or ethical solution but unable to come up with a better idea, Sakura broke down further and decided to escape the pain by restoring herself to factory settings. Because AI data cannot be erased, she moved her memories of loving Hakuno into a trash file that was stored away, where they eventually gained sentience and became BB.
