The Ballistic Equipment & Space Patrol Army, abbreviated as BESPA, is the military arm of the Zanscare Empire and major antagonists in Mobile Suit Victory Gundam.
History
BESPA was originally established as the Side 2 division of the Earth Federation's Mobile Suit development think-tank SNRI. However, after the Zanscare Empire was founded at Side 2, BESPA's facilities were acquired by the Empire and used to provide Mobile Suits to fuel the Empire's military force.
Having fallen on hard times following the Neo Zeon incident in U.C. 0093 and the Crossbone Vanguard's attacks in U.C. 0123, the Earth Federation was unable to do anything to stop BESPA when they launched their invasion of Earth.
Following the collapse of the Zanscare Empire, BESPA was presumably dissolved along with it.
