Ba Nan Ji is a major and supporting antagonist in the popular historical seinen manga and anime series, Kingdom. He is a veteran soldier infamous for his vicious battle thirst and berserker outburst. Ba Nan Ji currently serves as a General for the state of Zhao and one of Ri Boku's most trusted vessels within his inner circle and armies during the Warring States Era. He was one of the major antagonists during the Western Zhao Invasion Arc.

|~ Chou Ga Ryuu to Gaku Ei.|
Wearing his heart on his sleeves, Ba Nan Ji is a hot-blooded and passionate man as he would fervidly wage war against the almost unending hordes of the Xiongnu possibly even since the days of his youth. With a smile on his face, he will rush to action while fighting his opponents from the front while leading his troops on the battlefield. However, at the same time, he also incredibly calculating and an efficiently rational commander. And despite serving under the likes of Tou Jou, a king famous for utter corruption and disgusting deviancy he possesses a straightforward sense of justice as he condemns the Qin and their king, Ei Sei for not only invading his homelands but also their desire for the total unification of China itself as it will bring about an untold number of tragedies and ocean of blood. He is also unflinchingly loyal to his lord and master, Ri Boku as he respects him for his intellect and strength and possess a sense of humor as he occasionally Kaine whenever he has the chance.
Born and raised in the far north of the state of Zhao, Ba Nan Ji would eventually join in the war against the Xiongnu, the tribal confederation of nomadic raiders. He became infamous for his viciousness in fighting the barbaric tribesmen as he would literally punch their superhumanly strong leaders to death with his bare hands and for his berserker-like passion that earned the nickname, the Demon of Ganmon. At some point during this period, he met a young Great General from central Zhao named Ri Boku whom he would swear his loyalty to and Shun Sui Ju, a mysterious young man with ties to the nomadic raiders.
The Death of Kei Sha and a Declaration of War (237 B.C.)
While he was not present for the Coalition War, Ba Nan Ji would make his first appearance during the aftermath of the Battle of Kokuyou Hills with Ri Boku and Shun Sui Ju as they discussed the losses and gains from the battle. With the gains being the impressive abilities of Ki Sui and the supposed discovery of Kan Ki's weakness and the losses being the death of Kei Sha and the Qin gaining a foothold.
About a week later, he, Shun Sui Ju, Kaine and the rest of Zhao entourage would accompany Ri Boku to Kanyou, the capital city of the state of Qin...
