Bachmeyer is a major antagonist in the 2012 video game Max Payne 3. He was a corrupt Brazillian police officer who acted as second-in-command of the Unidade de Forças Especiais, and the right-hand man of its leader, Armando Becker.
He was voiced by Gilberto Romagnolo.
Biography[]
Background[]
Nothing is known about Bachmeyer and his past. Even his full name has never been revealed. However, it is believed that he is of Afro-Brazillian and, like his future leader, German descent. At some point, before 2012, he joined with the UFE, and similarly to Becker, he rapidly rose through the ranks, and became the latter's right-hand man. It was also around this time that Bachmeyer and Becker would become fluent in English.
Some time after this, Bachmeyer and Becker would meet a politician from São Paulo named Victor Branco, and begin working for him, along with participating in the Crachá Preto militia's organ harvesting operation.
Max Payne 3[]
In early 2012, after a attempt by the Comando Sombra favela gang to kidnap wealthy businessman Rodrigo Branco and his wife, Fabiana, was thwarted by Max Payne, then a private security guard for the Branco family, Bachmeyer, along with Becker, arrived at the scene to execute the remaining Comando Sombra gangsters. As the two went around, and Becker began arguing with a detective named Wilson Da Silva, Bachmeyer and Max would briefly exchange stares with each other.
A few days later, during the Crachá Preto's attack on the Fábricas Branco building, Bachmeyer would use the attack as a diversion, and he somehow managed to enter Rodrigo's officer, and executed him by shooting him in the back of his head. He took the incriminating CCTV tape that filmed Rodrigo's death, and planted a bomb that eventually blew up the building. All of this was secretly under Victor's orders, in an attempt to frame Max.
The next day, after Max tried and failed to stop Comando Sombra's leader, Serrano, from executing Fabiana, Victor and Becker sent Bachmeyer to lead the UFE in a full attack on the Nova Esperança favela, in an attempt to bring down Comando Sombra and Max. During this attack, Bachmeyer and the UFE captured many favela residents, and sold them to Milo Rego and the Crachá Preto. Max would catch glimpses of this as he fought his through the favela to escape.
After Max found out the truth behind Victor and Becker's scheme, and had already destroyed the Crachá Preto militia, he, with the help of Da Silva, stormed the UFE's headquarters in an attempt to bring Bachmeyer and his bosses to justice. During this rampage, Max found the CCTV tape showing Bachmeyer executing Rodrigo. He rushed towards the former, but Bachmeyer escaped, and sent more of his men to stop Max.
Bachmeyer gathered many of his men near Becker's office, in an attempt to protect him from Max. The two got into a big shoot-out that ended when Max shot Bachmeyer in the head, killing him, and causing his corpse to fall from the platform he was standing out, avenging Rodrigo's death as a result. Max would use his ID card to enter Becker's office, and though the latter and Victor would escape, Max would follow suit, and bring them to justice.
