History[]
Much of its founding remains shrouded in mystery, though it is known that the Bagra Army was founded by Lord Bagra in an attempt to take over the entire Digital World and collect all 108 fragments of the Code Crown, a powerful artifact that was once whole. When it split into a total of 108 fragments, a total of 108 number of Zones were created alongside several Digimon. To gain complete ownership of these Zones, the Bagra Army wants to gain these fragments, and thus, the Three Head Officers assign a commander in each of these Zones to obtain them and take complete control by force. The Three Head Officers themselves are competing with each other to become Lord Bagra's successor by gaining the highest number of Code Crown fragments.
By the end of Season 1, the Bagra Army successfully gains the ownership of all the Code Crown fragments and the complete Code Crown after the Fusion Fighters and the Blue Flare both arrive at the Sword Zone, where Tactimon has been sent to retrieve them. Tactimon proceeds to summon a DigiFusion/DigiXros Tower to lock the Zone and prevent their means of escape, followed by attacking them. Both the Fusion Fighters and the Blue Flare forge an alliance to stop the Head Officer, but they are no match for Tactimon's powers and his now unsealed sword. Lord Bagra takes this opportunity to steal all the Code Crown fragments and uses his 'Savage Cyclone' technique to collect all fragments and inadvertently send Mikey and his team alongside Tactimon back to the Human World. With the Code Crown in his possession, Lord Bagra is visited by AxeKnightmon, revealed to be his younger brother, and they decide to merge and recreate the Digital World in their image.
During Mikey's absence, Lord Bagra has used the Code Crown to reformat the Digital World in his image - he creates seven Lands and an eighth spiritual kingdom called Prison Land to imprison his foes, with his new seat of power, the Demon's Nest or the Bagra Dark Nest at the centre of these Lands and has reorganized the entire empire's hierarchy. AxeKnightmon is now a part of the Bagra Army and the Admiral of the Demon's Nest and the second-in-command of the entire Bagra Army, while the Lands are ruled by the Death Generals, a group of seven powerful Digimon who torture their citizens to gather negative energy emitted from the Digimons' suffering and send it to the Dark Nest. Under Lord Bagra's orders, the collected negative energy is infused to the Code Crown, which has been corrupted and is known as the Dark Stone. With the Digital World under the Bagra army's command, Lord Bagra plots to invade and conquer the Human World as well. To achieve this, he has planned for D5 - the ultimate day of destruction which allows him to merge and reformat both the Digital and the Human Worlds together and create a new world to rule over it. To achieve this, he needs the Dark Stone at full power, which can only be achieved by gathering enough negative energy and infusing it.
However, the Bagra Army faces a new resistance - the combined armies of Fusion Fighters and the Blue Flare have joined forces to form the Fusion Fighters United Army which opposes them and is intent on freeing these Lands. Throughout the entire second season, the Bagra Army faces immense losses - the Death Generals have been slain and their Lands have been liberated despite the empire's massive power as well as Nene's younger brother Ewan being manipulated into becoming a General for them. Eventually, the Fusion Fighters deliver a crippling blow to the empire by killing all the Death Generals and showing Ewan the truth behind the Digital World, which weakens them severely. As the Fusion Fighters approach the Bagra Dark Nest, they find it to be unguarded. Instead, they are welcomed and congratulated by Lord Bagra, who Nene seems to feel she knows the Digimon well. As Lord Bagra congratulates them but chastises them for their foolishness, the entire conversation is revealed to be an illusion as he disappears into dust alongside the Bagra Fortress, revealing AxeKnightmon, who reveals the reason behind the collection of negative energy and demonstrates to them the power of the Dark Stone by reviving the Seven Death Generals - only without their consciousness. A great battle ensues, with Olegmon and Apollomon aiding the Fusion Fighters while AxeKnightmon fuses the remaining into GrandGeneramon, only for them to be defeated. However, AxeKnightmon's purpose is complete - he managed to gain enough negative energy to complete the Dark Stone.
With the Fusion Fighters marching on to the real Bagra Dark Nest, AxeKnightmon reports to Lord Bagra of the Dark Stone's completion, but the emperor is displeased with his enemies still alive. AxeKnightmon states that he let them live so that they can witness the Bagra Army's victory. Pleased with this, Lord Bagra absorbs the Dark Stone and finally comes out of the Dark Nest to face his enemies in battle. Lord Bagra proceeds to initiate D5 and uses his right arm to break through the barrier between the Digital World and the Real World, while successfully petrifying it completely. As the Fusion Fighters retaliate, Lord Bagra still deals with them by using only his left arm, while declaring himself immortal, thanks to the absorbed Dark Stone. He decides to end this by using a strong attack. Telling the remaining Fighters to witness the emperor's iron hammer, he prepares to attack, only to groan in agony as he realises he has been stabbed from the back by AxeKnightmon. Revealing his intention to absorb his brother and become the ruler of the Digital World, AxeKnightmon DigiFuses himself with Lord Bagra to become Darkest AxeKnightmon and proceeds to attack the Fusion Fighters. With his extremely destructive attacks, he forces them to remain on guard, and even uses the Darkness Loader to steal their Digimon, until Mikey returns with a rescued Ewan. With the tides turned, AxeKnightmon decides to use the Hand of Doom attack to obliterate them, until Shoutmon X7 pushes it away. Horrified, and confused, AxeKnightmon is met with Lord Bagra in his psyche, who reveals he had known of his intentions all along. He erases him and reformats their fused body in his image, becoming MegaDarkness Bagramon, and erasing his opponents using Eternal Darkmare. He then proceeds to head to the Human World with his renewed armies and assaults it, until the Fusion Fighters return and restore the Dark Stone to its original state as the Code Crown. With all the Digimemories and other deceased Digimon resurrected, they all attack the armies and finally fuse together with Shoutmon, who becomes Shoutmon X7F Superior Mode and fights against Lord Bagra, who absorbs the data of the land to become a gigantic version of himself and attacks Shoutmon. The attack is a failure, as Shoutmon successfully resists it and slashes Lord Bagra, killing him.
Ultimaely, the Bagra Army is defeated and destroyed completely. However, despite Lord Bagra's demise, his D5 plan has affected both worlds severely and has fused them together. He is reincarnated as a human being, now known as the Old Clock Shop Man/the Watchmaker, who aids the new Digimon Hunters. He reveals himself towards the end to Mikey as the reincarnation of Lord Bagra himself, and states that he intends to find his brother.
