Bambi, real name unknown, is the main antagonist of the 3-part Zenoscope Comic series Pooh vs. Bambi. Originally a member of a US Government Strike force consistent of humanoid animals, Bambi would seek revenge on the organization that stole his life from him, turning him into a humanoid deer and formerly best friend of Pooh.
History[]
Bambi was one of many human animal experiments given life from an unknown laboratory. He was at one-point best friends with his fellow solider Pooh. During one operation, Bambi, Pooh, Tigger, Owl, Rabbit and Eeyore were given the orders to attack a base of ecoterrorists. During the operation, Bambi discovered they were defectors from the project that created the hybrids. Infuriated, Bambi discovered he was at one point a harmless deer from a zoo in Pennsylvania and began to kill the various scientists in the room. Pooh stopped his friend, knowing their objective was to bring them in alive. Bambi was unconvinced, showing Pooh a vial of the serum that converted his team into humanoid creatures. Seeing it as a way to rule the world, Bambi attempted to convince Pooh to join him.
Pooh however, remained loyal to his CO General Robin, wanting to find a peaceful solution to all this. Infuriated, Bambi attacked his former friend, only for Pooh to quickly pull out a gun and shoot the deer in the head. The Government then decided to cancel the team afraid of another Bambi. Ashamed, Pooh would retreat to the Appalachian Wilderness for several years. Unbeknown to him, Bambi was resurrected with a cybernetic implant courteously of Dr. Kanga, one of the original researchers of the project.
Kanga and Bambi would work together over the years to build a new laboratory to create human hybrids. Using the serum, Kanga turned herself into a humanoid Kangaroo, while having a son named Roo. During their research, Tigger would have found their organization. She was however seduced with the promise of a human body to live her life as fit in exchange for her help. Tigger agreed and joined Bambi's side.
Pooh and one of General Robin's soldiers, a woman codenamed Piglet, would storm the compound, fighting through a swarm of talking spiders. Pooh quickly became shocked at the state of his friends and of Bambi's return. Bambi expressed his jealousy over how Pooh was considered the favorite among the hybrids. Bambi explained that Dr. Kanga had been one of the scientists at the compound that day and was able to heal him from Pooh's attacks. Bambi gloats on how he wants to issue a new form of peace. The group tied up Pooh and Piglet with the intent of leaving them with Roo.
Pooh and Piglet talk, where Piglet admits that without General Robin knowing, she was given a powerful explosive to kill Pooh and Tigger. With Pooh biting Roo, he was able to give Piglet one of the blowtorches initially meant for torture to escape. After a brief battle, Roo reveals to Pooh that Kanga and Bambi were to use Heffalumps, powerful elephant/human hybrid soldiers as an army. The Heffalumps are infused with mutagenetic bombs, which when detonated, will turn anyone into a hybrid.
Pooh and Piglet race off to catch the plane, with Tigger switching to her tiger form to attack. Piglet is able to pin her under some debris long enough for Pooh to get on the plane. Bambi learns of the stowaway and attempts to fight Pooh. The bear refuses, saying that the bombs in the Heffalumps won't bring about peace. To Pooh's surprise, Bambi didn't know about the bombs and demanded answers from Kanga. She reveals the real plans and much to her annoyance, Bambi refuses to do it her way. Kanga then orders the Heffalumps to attack, where Bambi and Pooh fight them off together. Infuriated, Kanga would activate the bombs. Feeling remorseful, Bambi pushes Pooh off the plane so it will crash in a spot the mutagen won't affect anyone. After escaping the explosion, Piglet agrees to tell her superiors that all of the mutants, including Pooh, had died that day.
What neither was aware of, was Tigger had escaped and sold the remaining serum to Eeyore.
