The Mexicans are a one-time group of villains from the Fleisher Studios cartoon, Popeye the Sailor Man, only appearing in the episode "Blow Me Down".
Biography[]
In "Blow Me Down", Popeye went to Mexico to see Olive. When he got there, a bunch of Mexicans immediately started spying on him as he walked down the street. One Mexican from atop a roof tried to shoot him in the head, only for the bullet to bounce off of his tough-as-steel skull and fly back at him, hitting him in the face and knocking him to the ground. Popeye went to Alla Kinda Flowers and bought a flower for Olive. As he walked with the flower, a Mexican smiled at him antagonistically and Popeye punched him in the face, breaking all his teeth. When Popeye got to the saloon, Popeye saw Olive dancing, while a bunch of Mexicans ogled her.
After Olive's dance ended, Bluto the Bandit came in and shot up the place, causing everyone in the bar to stop in their tracks. Popeye recognized Bluto from the wanted posters and the two got into a fight.
Bluto summoned an army of Mexicans to fight Popeye. Popeye ate his spinach and fought off all the Mexicans one by one, knocking them all over the bar. Little did Popeye know, Bluto only summoned his army as a distraction, so that he could go to Olive's room, while Popeye was busy with them. However, Popeye had still managed to defeat all the Mexicans and get to Bluto to save Olive.
Trivia[]
