The Bane Mother is the main antagonist of the Sarah Jane Adventures episode "Invasion of the Bane", and a posthumous antagonist in "Enemy of the Bane". It is a (presumably) female alien that is the mother of all the Bane on Earth, including Davey and Mrs. Wormwood.
Biography
The Mother arrived on Earth alongside Mrs. Wormwood as part of a mission to take it over. She concealed herself on the ceiling of the Bubble Shock! factory, secreting a substance that was added to the drink and allowed her to control anyone who drank it.
She was discovered by Kelsey Hooper, who escaped from her using her mobile phone signal. Kelsey was captured by Davey, who revealed the creature as his mother before destroying the phone. The Mother later consumed Davey as punishment for failing to kill Sarah Jane Smith.
The Bane Mother died when an alien frequency was used to amplify the mobile phone signal, which Mrs. Wormwood was blamed for. As a result, she was hunted by the Bane throughout the episode "Enemy of the Bane" and allied herself with a Sontaran named Kaagh and tried to resurrect the ancient god Horath, leading to her death.
