Bara Hungry is the Pot-themed Machine Beast of the Machine Empire Baranoia serving Acha and Kocha and a minor antagonist in Chouriki Sentai Ohranger, serving as the main antagonist of the 25th episode.
He is voiced by Keiko Yamamoto who previously voiced Kabochumpkin earlier in Ohranger.
Biography[]
Past[]
As with all members of the Machine Empire Baranoia, Bara Hungry was built by Emperor Bacchus Wrath and Empress Hysteria some 65 million years ago on Planet Baranoia. Along with the rest of the Machine Beasts and the Barlo Soldiers, Bara Hungry helped them to devastate and conquer multiple planets.
Ohranger[]
Millions of years later, in 1999, Emperor Bacchus Wrath and his Empire return to Earth and launch an invasion of Earth where they rally thier forces but the Ohrangers arise to oppose them.
Bara Hungry is sent by Acha and Kocha to eat as much food as he can so he can produce a rainbow colored mold that will cover Japan. Being summer, the mold spores will thrive and He is first seen appearing outside a house for Yutaka's grandfather's birthday where he eats all of the food in the house. After being fed a lot of sake and accidentally turning on a television to a festival though, he dances and eats weapons the family tries to use on him but then passes out as mad scientist Kotaro Henna passes by. After he gets covered in mold by striking Bara Hungry, the Ohrangers are summoned and they attempt to blow him up but Acha and Kocha wake him up via an internal alarm clock and he flees.
After being reprimanded and reminded of the plot by Acha and Kocha, he runs through the streets of Tokyo and spreads his mold only for the Ohrangers to learn from Yutaka about his love for festivals and throw a fake one to distract him. Summoning Barlo Soldiers to carry him on a float, they engage the Ohrangers with the Barlo Soldiers being easily dispatched but Bara Hungry being more than a match for the Ohrangers. Before Bara Hungry can finish them though, they begin their fake festival which leads to him dancing and drinking sake until he becomes weary which allows the Ohrangers to easily destroy him with the new Olé Bazooka. After being enlarged by Acha and Kocha, the Ohrangers form Ohranger Robo only for Bara Hungry to immobilize it with mold and attempt to bite into it. When Chief Miura begins beating a drum however, Bara Hungry dances again which allows Goro to summon Red Puncher, blast him back and free Ohranger Robo. With Bara Hungry stunned, they form Buster Ohranger Robo and kill him with the Big Cannon Burst.

Bara Hungry is a dimwitted, laughter filled, fun and food loving Machine Beast that is completely loyal to Acha and Kocha. Unlike other Machine Beasts, he is more childish and spoke more simply as well as having a wide-eyed wonder for human society. However, he became so obsessed with Earth culture that he developed a mental compulsion to dance whenever he was presented with a Japanese festival (or at least an imitation of one) which ultimately proved to be his undoing.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Bara Hungry can throw off very tight chains with ease, knock around the Ohrangers with single punches and pull around Yuji by grabbing his King Stick.
- Headbutt: Bara Hungry can also charge hard enough to cause an explosion on Ohranger Robo and cause severe damage.
- Durability: Bara Hungry survived being hit by all five King Smashers as well as repeatedly shots from Red Puncher without a scratch and attempting to drill into his gut blunted the drill.
- Speed: Bara Hungry can run at incredible speeds, being able to escape from the Ohrangers and run around the entirety of Tokyo in minutes.
- Unlimited Appetite: Bara Hungry is always hungry and ready to eat anything, being able to eat at least one hundred portions of food as well as a table and a gold club before sleeping.
- Consumption: Bara Hungry can eat anything, including a wooden table and a golf club.
- Mold Mist: Bara Hungry's main ability where he spews rainbow colored mist that can generate rainbow colored mist capable of easily covering all of Japan and producing mold spores to spread worldwide.
- Containment Mold: When giant, Bara Hungry could also spew his mold to cover over and completely engulf his enemies; clogging up their joints and leaving them entire unable to move. This was enough to restrain Ohranger Robo until it was completely immovable and could also be triggered by striking him hard enough in the gut as Kotaro Henna discovered.
- Extendable Arms: Bara Hungry's right arm can extend to incredible lengths, being able to grab a phone from halfway across a room.
- Barlo Soldier Summoning: Bara Hungry summoned Barlo Soldiers to carry him on a float before his first battle.
- Powerful Bites: Bara Hungry can deliver extremely strong bites, being able to make Goro collapse in pain and causing massive damage to Ohranger Robo.
- Antenna Blasts: Bara Hungry can fire blue energy splatters from his antenna which were powerful enough to take down all five Ohrangers with one hit.
Weaknesses[]
- Festivals: Bara Hungry's affinity for festivals led to him developing an irresistible desire to dance to even if it interfered with his missions. Both times this was exploited, he was easily killed.
- Drunkenness: After drinking enough sake, Bara Hungry would become extremely drunk and eventually pass out.
Arsenal[]
- Fists: Despite lacking weapons of his own, Bara Hungry is a skilled fighter with his bare hands.
- Teeth: Bara Hungry can use his razor sharp teeth to easily chow down on any food he came across, bite on enemies and, when giant, nearly bite pieces off of Ohranger Robo.
