Bara King is the Anubis-themed Machine Beast of the Machine Empire Baranoia serving Machine Beast Tamer Keris and a minor antagonist in Chouriki Sentai Ohranger. He serves as the secondary antagonist of the 27th and 28th episodes.
He is voiced by Masaru Hachinohe.
Biography[]
Past[]
As with all members of the Machine Empire Baranoia, Bara King was built by Emperor Bacchus Wrath and Empress Hysteria some 65 million years ago on Planet Baranoia. Along with the rest of the Machine Beasts and the Barlo Soldiers, Bara Goblin helped them to devastate and conquer multiple planets. However, Keris began capturing the more animalistic Machine Beasts and putting them inside cages in the Baranoia Royal Zoological and Botanical Society which included Bara King.
Ohranger[]
Millions of years later, in 1999, Emperor Bacchus Wrath and his Empire return to Earth and launch an invasion of Earth where they rally thier forces but the Ohrangers arise to oppose them. In spite of this, Bara King remains out of the war due to still being imprisoned in the zoo.
After the death of Bara Goblin, Keris kidnaps and seemingly kills Riki so Bacchus Wrath has has her empower Bara King with Riki’s powers and skill to trick and kill the Ohrangers so he can claim the Earth for the Machine Beasts. At night, Bara King ambushes a young girl and kidnaps her to draw the Ohrangers' attention and succeeds in drawing them out as he harasses the girl the next day. Recognising his similarities to Riki though, they refuse to fight Bara King after Keris lies about it being KingRanger which allows Bara King to beat them down before disappearing.
Personality[]
Bara King is an extremely violent, vicious and sadistic Machine Beast who is entirely obsessed with violence and brutal attempts to kill his enemies. Besides being loyal to Keris, Bara King is a mute creature who only speaks in roars and yells.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Single punches from Bara King sent the Ohrangers flying away.
- Durability: Bara King withstood a jump kick from Yuji and simaltanious punches from Juri, Momo and Shouhei without injury.
- Hand to Hand Combat: Bara King is a very skilled hand to hand combatant, being able to fight and defeat five Ohrangers with his bare hands.
Arsenal[]
- Spear: Bara King's main weapon in battle is a long black spear with golden tips that resemble KingRanger's King Stick.
- Energy Balls: Bara King can fire explosive blue energy balls from the tip of his staff that knocked down all five Ohrangers with one hit.
- Shield: As well as his spear, Bara King carries a round golden shield to block attacks and defend him from attacks.
