Bara Vanish was the Landmine-themed Machine Beast of the Machine Empire Baranoia serving Prince Buldont and a minor antagonist in Chouriki Sentai Ohranger. It serves as the main antagonist of the 3rd episode and a supporting antagonist in the 33rd episode.
Personality[]
Bara Vacuum was shown to be a violent and relentless creature whose sole interest was fulfilling its masters' orders. However, it never spoke and was completely silent; never making a sound and befitting its invisibility powers.
Biography[]
Past[]
As with all members of the Machine Empire Baranoia, Bara Vanish was built by Emperor Bacchus Wrath and Empress Hysteria some 65 million years ago on Planet Baranoia. Along with the rest of the Machine Beasts and the Barlo Soldiers, Bara Vanish helped them to devastate and conquer multiple planets.
Ohranger[]
Millions of years later, in 1999, Bacchus Wrath and his Empire return to Earth and launch an invasion of Earth but the initial attacks by Bara Drill and Bara Saucer are defeated by the newly formed Ohrangers.
As a result of the newfound resistance, an enraged Bacchus Wrath immediately sends down a Takonpas fleet to deploy Bara Vanish which has orders from Prince Buldont to discover the secrets of Chouriki so that it can be studied and countered. Immediately upon arriving on Earth, Bara Vanish disappears before grabbing Kenichi Matsumoto (since he was the one to first uncover the fragment that allowed the UAOH to recreate Chouriki) only to be rammed away by Goro on his Red Jetter; having been spotted from high above. Despite this, Bara Vanish is able to defeat Goro by turning invisible until Goro runs him over in a car and tries to flee with Kenichi. However, Bara Vanish then attacks the car until it crashes and explodes which forces them to flee into a tunnel and away from the Barlo Soldiers.
Bara Vanish then confronts the two in a factory just for them to evade it by climbing higher and for Goro to notice that it needs the Sun to turn invisible. Buldont goes down to the Earth in person with some Barlo Soldiers to confront Bara Vanish over its failure only to find Goro and Kenichi hiding above so he blasts them down and orders Bara Vanish and his forces to attack. When the Ohrangers arrive and defeat the Barlo Soldiers, Bara Vanish turns invisible and smacks them all down before grabbing Kenichi to steal his memories. Before it can reach the memories though, Goro forces it to drop Kenichi by shooting it with his Chouriki Riser and then stabs it in the core hard enough to destroy Bara Vanish's core; rendering its invisibility powers useless. With Bara Vanish helpless, Goro blasts it off the building with his King Smasher before all five Ohrangers strike the Machine Beast with their special weapons and destroy it with the Big Bang Buster.
The destroyed shell of Bara Vanish is scrapped and thrown in the Baranoian scrapheap where it is seen when angry pieces of machinery form Bara Revenger although Bara Vanish's shell does not fuse with him.
Much later on, after the death of Bara Faucet, Bacchus Wrath executes his ultimate plan; harnessing the power of the Earth's volcanic magma, recreating an army of past Machine Beasts (including Bara Vanish) as giants and upgrading them with the Magma Enhancement Program to allow them to kill the Ohrangers. However, the Ohrangers ultimately penetrate the cave system where the upgrades are taking place and destroy most of the monsters by collapsing the cave on top of them with Bara Vanish being among them.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Bara Vanish was strong enough to choke and drag around Goro with ease as well as break through the roof of a car with a single smack of its mace hand. Later, during the factory fight, it took down each of the Rangers with single swings after turning invisible.
- Durability: Bara Vanish was able to shrug off multiple laser blasts from Goro's Chouriki Riser, being run over by Goro in a car, being involved in a car crash, being shot by the King Blasters and Goro's King Smasher, falling off a building and fried by all of the Ohrangers' special weapons without a scratch. Not even being rammed by Goro's rapidly descending Red Jetter fazed it.
- Sight: Bara Vanish could see despite not having eyes.
- Non-Ageing: Due to being a robot, Bara Vanish was unable to age.
- Invisibility: As its name suggests, Bara Vanish could turn completely invisible and be undetectable by flashing its power core and utilising the energy of the Sun.
- Super Speed: Whilst invisible, Bara Vanish move at incredibly fast speeds to the extent that it was only visible as red energy lasers.
- Teleportation: By flashing its core, Bara Vanish could disappear and instantly reappear much further away.
- Energy Flash: Bara Vanish could release a blue energy spray from its power core which was able to vaporise part of a wall.
- Lightning Blasts: Bara Vanish could spray bright blue lightning from its power core that was strong enough to cause large explosions.
- Memory Extraction: Bara Vanish could remove memories from people by attaching their heads to its core.
- Memory Projection: Whilst extracting a victim's memories, Bara Vanish would project their memories into the sky behind it.
Weaknesses[]
- Light Sensor: Bara Vanish required the Sun to turn invisible and needed the golden orb in the center of its body to do so. If it was damaged, like when Goro's Chouriki Riser shot it, the Machine Beast would be unable to turn invisible.
Arsenal[]
- Mace Hand: Bara Vanish had a ball-like mace instead of a left hand that it could use to bash its enemies with.
- Right Pincer Arm: In place of a right arm, Bara Vanish had a pincer claw to smack and grapple its enemies with.
- Pole: Bara Vanish tried to crush Goro by destroying a pole and making it fall on top of him but he dodged.
