Baraka is a major antagonist of Mortal Kombat Legacy. Dr. Alan Zane was a plastic surgeon, but one of his patients died while undergoing a procedure, resulting in his medical license being terminated. Unable to cope, he went insane and suffered from severe psychosis. Turning the surgical knife on himself, Zane turned himself into a monster, losing all his humanity in the process, and quickly becoming a horrific serial killer.
He was played by Lateef Crowder in Mortal Kombat: Rebirth and by Fraser Aitcheson in Mortal Kombat: Legacy.
Personality[]
Doctor Zane was originally a decent man that wanted to help people, dedicating himself to becoming a skilled plastic surgeon. However, after accidentally killing one of his patients and losing his license, he fell into a deep depression that would ultimately turn into severe madness. Mutilating and surgically augmenting himself to become less and less human, Zane became monstrous and bloodthirsty. While still retaining the desire to improve his skills, his new way of practicing involved kidnapping others and brutally mutilating and murdering them. A sadist, he enjoys the pain he delivered unto his victims, while also having masochistic tendencies and more than likely having addictions to surgery.
Powers and Abilities[]
Being a former plastic surgeon, Baraka has high expert level knowledge of many things in the medical world, especially of the human body. Using this knowledge, he operated on himself extensively, giving him a deadly assortment of weapons and tools to use in his grizzly murders. He sharpened his teeth into fangs which he is all too eager to bite into people with, and surgically implanted long blades into his arms which he uses to both cut into people as well as mutilate and maim them. He is very proficient in hand to hand combat, able to take down even trained fighters with ease and possesses peak physical performance. Mixed with his masochism, he also has a high degree of stamina and tolerance to pain, able to keep fighting even with major injuries.
