Baraka and Bakara are major antagonists in the french comic book series The Legendaries in the Volume 2 spin-off of the Origin: Jadina and Volume 13 of the main series Royal Blood.
They are twins Marakas, a tribe of female warriors that comes from small villages and specialized in assassinations. They were hired as the count Kasino’s bodyguard as his birthday presents.
Appearance[]
As twins, both Baraka and Bakara have almost the identical appearance, having long dark hair, always seen tied in long brains arriving at their legs. Their long hair have metal sharp claws at the end that they uses as weapons in combat. The top of their head’s hair are shaved in stylist design. They have two spiral signs on each of their eyes, brown colored skin and both blue colored iris. As part of the maraka species, they have special features unlike regular humans, as they possesses sharper ears.
They wears some sort of red and blue assassin attire having majorities of their body parts exposed.
The only difference between the two twins is that Bakara’s cloth’s colors are swapped with her twin sister as well for the head band they wears.
Personality[]
As bodyguards, they are very loyal to Kasino. At some time in the Origins, Bakara even showed affection his master. During all their appearances they have almost never showed any emotions and are very serious at their jobs.
History[]
Origins Volume 2: Jadina[]
When Kasino turned 18, his mother Invidia offered him two women warriors known as Baraka that specialized in assassinations.
They appears alongside Kasino who was enjoying his time gambling inside a casino. When his opponents accused him of cheating, they attempt to give him a lesson, to which the twins took down the men. A few days later, Kasino was seen training alongside and injured one of them. One of the mens, Golgo accept the challenge that Kasino proposed; to have a fight against one of his Marakas. Kasino then orders Bakara to take care of him. Not so long after she easily defeats the men effortlessly. She is congratulated by Kasino.
Later on, Invidia convinces Kasino to help her in her plan to kill Jadina in order to get revenge for the loss of his eye. They are assigned to kidnap Professor Vangelis. At night they attack Vangelis in his apartment by surprise and knock him down. They then take the men inside a place where he is drugged, to force him to write a false letter to Jadina. Kasino then changes his mind, not wanting the death of his cousin and decides to rush to save Jadina alongside the twins. When Jadina were about to get attacked by some of the animals of the zoo, the twins kils the animals and takes the Vangelis on their shoulders, because not having enough strength to run. Soon after they encounter a giant cracolac, the same cracolac that injured Kasino as a child. Excited, Kasino charges at the monsters alongside his bodyguards, but the gigantic animal is killed by Jadina with the Eagle-Staff appearing at her hand suddendly. They are then arrested alongside their master, when it was revealed that Kasino was connected the cause behind the releases of all the animals of the zoo. They were then released when, no clues were able to be able to proves that their master were behind the incident that occured.
Main Series Volume 13: Royal Blood[]
The twins makes their next appearance in Volume 13 of the main series. As the queen was announced to be sick, Kasino meets his aunt the Adeyrid the queen at Orchidia. They were before seen meeting the Legendaries with the flying mounts. During a small reunion between the queen, Jadina, Tenebris and Kasino, it was announced that Kasino has a chance to occupy the throne of Orchidia if none of Adeyrid’s daughter has the change to do so. To assure that he could occupy the throne, Kasino orders the marakas to spy on the Legendaries at night to collect informations. They learns and tells their master that they plan to go explore inside the mines of Emeraudia in order to find a cure for the sick queen. Kasino follow the vigilantes inside the mines. At night as the groups of heroes were sleeping, They make their attempt on assassinating them by causing giant boulders to fall on the cabines which they were in, but however fails to do so as they manage to evade the giant stones. 5 days later, with Kasino they confront the Legendaries inside the mines, causing them to fight each other. Soon after The twins attacks Gryf and send him to the wall. Tenebris they prepares to kill them with her knives. Bakara then sends her claw attached to their hairs at Razzia and Tenebris, but they manages to dodge it. Shimy then uses her powers of Elemental Fusion, which caused a great part of the came to collapse as Vangelis warns her, killing the twins in the process.
