Barb Mentir is a minor antagonist in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He was a member of Hondo Ohnaka's pirate gang, who betrays his leader and conspires with Turk Falso against him for their own greed.
History[]
At one point during the Clone Wars, Hondo Ohnaka captured Sith Lord Count Dooku and demanded a ransom in spice from the Republic. Hondo's lieutenant Turk Falso disagreed with dealing with the Republic and decided to steal the spice for himself. Mentir was among the pirates who joined Turk. When a Republic ship came to Florrum, Mentir shot it down in his shuttle, killing Senator Kharrus and the pilots. But suspecting that there were survivors, he did not obtain the spice. Unsure if Turk's plot would work, Mentir considered giving up and confessing to Hondo about it, but Turk forced him not to.
The survivors of the crash defeated Turk's pirates and foiled their theft. Turk and Barb then tried to escape without the spice, knowing it would not be long until Hondo finds out about their betrayal. As they walked to the shuttle, the escaped Dooku appeared from behind them, and manipulated Turk into shooting and killing Barb using the Force.
