Barranca is a minor antagonist in the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark. He was a greedy guide who, along with Satipo, helped out Indiana Jones to get the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol at the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors.
He was portrayed by Vic Tablian.
Biography[]
In 1936, Barranca accompanies Indiana Jones and Satipo to the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors, in Peru. He and Satipo find out that the Hovitos are following them upon discover a fresh poisoned dart in the forest.
As Indiana Jones examines the map to the temple. Barranca attempts to kill him by shooting at him with a gun. But as he draws his revolver, Indy senses it and uses his whip to disarm him. As Indy gives him a threatening glare, Barranca runs away.
Unfortunately for him, he runs into the Hovitos, who kill him with poison darts.
