Barrierfreeman is a minor antagonist turned ally in the anime/manga series Kinnikuman.
Biography[]
Past[]
Barrierfreeman was originally two separate Chojin named Nils and Jiijoman.
Jiijoman was originally a Justice Chojin from Sweeden, however, his rampant sexual crimes such as groping women and flashing people would eventually result in the Universal Chojin Committee declaring that Jiijioman should be sealed away in a tree where he stayed for 200 years.
Nils was originally a Justice Chojin from Sweeden who wanted nothing more than to aid the elderly, seeing them as less fortunate than he is. In order to spread this message to the world, Nils would become a wrestler and would try to compete in various high-profile fights but would lose all of them.
One day, Nils would travel into the forest to train where he would meet Jiijoman sealed in an old tree. Jiijoman would trick Nils into thinking that he was a normal Justice Chojin and that he would help Nils into becoming the greatest Chojin in the world if he agreed to share his body with him when in actuality, Jiijoman just want to commit more sexual acts.
Nils agreed, using an axe to cut one of his hands off so Jiijoman could enter it, the two shared one body and would go on to be known as Barrierfreeman after Nils' ideal that the world should be "barrier-free" to the elderly.
Kinnikuman Nisei[]
Barrierfreeman is first seen during the Chojin Olympics: The Resurrection Arc where he is seen during the qualifying rounds.
His first major non-background appearance would be when Jiijoman and two other Chojin would be tasked with running a race to see which one of them could catch a bikini-clad girl before she hit the ground. Barrierfreeman would run and beat the other two before groping the girl he saved.
During the three-legged race, Jiijoman would pick an attractive girl for him to grope and ogle while they race. In the end, they would be one of the twelve to participate in the main event of the Chojin Olympics.
Barrierfreeman would get lucky and manage to skip the first round. In the quarter-finals, Barrierfreeman would be set to fight against Mantaro Kinniku. Before the match even started, Jiijoman would use his own money to buy up a thousand seats for the elderly people who lived in Osaka to cheer him on during their match but also so they would constantly boo and throw things at Mantaro for the "elder abuse" he would do whenever Mantaro hit Jiijoman.
As Barrierfreeman entered the ring, Jiijoman would boast about how he was fighting in the Chojin Olympics so that he could prove the worth of the elderly so they would be treated better.
During their match, Jiijoman and Nils would constantly swap with each other, using their might to try and break Mantaro's spine as the elderly crowd sapped away his spirit. When Jiijoman was thrown out of the ring, he instinctively slapped the old lady that tried to help him up and "accidentally" groped the younger woman who carried him to the ring.
As the match continued, Jiijoman's facade started to slip and eventually fully break when he slapped another old woman in a fit of rage. The entire audience turned on him and cheered for Mantaro instead. Once Meat found out about Jiijoman's past, the entire audience realised that Nils was completely honest about his beliefs unlike Jiijoman.
Jiijoman would continue to fight, however, when Nils began to cry, Jiijoman's technique of breaking his opponent's back over Jiijoman's shoulders became useless because the pouch that Nils contorted into that held the opponent's feet filled with his tears so Mantaro could escape. Eventually, the match would end with Mantaro performing the Muscle Millennium, separating Jiijoman and Nils from each other.
Once the match was over, Jiijoman and Nils were separated with Jiijoman dying from being without a complete body. The crowd cheered for Nils to kill Jiijoman for all of the horrible acts he has committed, however, Nils instead invited Jiijoman back into his body so that he wouldn't die. Despite how horrible he is, Nils stood by the idea that the elderly should be protected and that he would always protect those that are less fortunate than him.
After this loss and seeing Nils' kindness to him, Jiijoman started to become more like a Justice Chojin to the point that he risked and sacrificed his life to save Meat from the Demon Seed and Akuma Shogun.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Chojin Physiology: As a Chojin, Barrierfreeman has superhuman strength, speed and durability. Other abilities that Chojin have that Barrierfreeman has is the ability to grow to be as large as a building and the ability to fly without wings or thrusters, even in the vacuum of space.
- Mimic Hand: Since Barrierfreeman is the shared body of Nils and Jiijoman, they are able to switch between whoever is in charge of the body at will depending on if Nils is doing the Mimic Hand or not. When Mimic Hand is active then Nils contorts into a stomach pouch-like thing on Jiijoman's stomach and when Mimich Hand isn't active then Nils' full body is out with Jiijoman's top half coming out of on of Nils' hands and the bottom half coming out of one of Nils' shoulders.
