Barry Barris is one of the main cast members of the Netflix original series, Farzar. He is a mentally unstable lunatic and twisted pervert, who works as the scientist of The S.H.A.T. Squad and has an Oedipus complex, suicidal tendencies, and a habit of eating his own hair. He is the self-proclaimed "father" of an artificial life form named Billy that he genetically spliced together in his laboratory, using the body parts of various animals, aliens, humans, and other creatures.

Barry is villainous for his unethical experiments and messed up inventions that are mostly centered around sex. This gets him in a lot of trouble with the law since his work generally involves rape, kidnapping, and sexual harassment. However, due to his strong connections with Renzo, Barry has enough political power to stay, for the most part, unharmed by the law.

He is voiced by David Kaye, who also voices Clitaurus from the same show.

Biography[]

In his earlier years, Barry Barris used to be not only a perfectly well-adjusted and mentally-sound man but also one of the top minds on Farzar, supposedly having created numerous applications for his society that helped to advance its technology. It's not entirely clear what specific things he invented to make him such an honorable person but some of his inventions seem to be carry-overs from his sane years, considering how convenient they are, such as his shrink ray, his cloning machine, and his memory gun.

At some point in his life, Barry suffered from a myriad of mental breakdowns, caused by unknown sources. Very quickly, this caused his genius mind to slip from sanity into madness. After which, instead of using his intelligence and inventiveness for good, he used it for as satisfying his sick sexual fantasies, among other nauseating things. Barry invented weird things such as a wormhole watch, which would open up portals to his mother's shower so that he could watch her naked. He invented a suislide whistle, which was a slide whistle one would use to kill themselves, by blowing into it to make their heads explode. He invented a bouncy castle pellet, which, when wet, would turn into a bouncy castle. His reasons for doing this were so that he could trick people into taking their shoes off so that he could smell them. These are only a handful of the perverse and perplexing things he would go on to create.

His most notable invention of his psycho years was his "son", Billy, who was an amalgamation of a bunch of body parts of different aliens and animals all put together to make a massive sentient behemoth that he loved like his own son. Some would argue that Barry invented Billy mostly to fill a void in his life caused by the fact that he has no real kids on account of having never found love, which has also been a huge issue for him.

One of Barry's primary struggles in life is that he can't find a man or woman to be happy with. This is mostly in part due to his mental instability, causing him to behave inappropriately on dates, scaring people off. Barry tends to drive people away by doing things such as breaking into their homes without their knowledge or consent and jerking off in front of them, while asphyxiating himself. Usually, whenever someone rejects him or issues a restraining order against them, he'll kidnap them in a burlap sack and forcibly take them back to his lab to fuck them. However, these meaningless sexual encounters just do not substitute for a legitimate romantic relationship with a genuine soulmate.

Currently, Barry Barris works as the scientist for The S.H.A.T. Squad, answering to Renzo's son and acting Czarivech of Dome City, Prince Fichael. Barry provides Fichael and the other teammates with his useful inventions and occasionally assists them on the battlefield, by working as a space warrior in the long-running battle against Bazarack Killdiedeath. Barry also brings along Billy to work with him and has him helping out the team too.

Villainous Acts[]

In "Welcome to Paradise", Barry showed off his wormhole watch, which was a watch he invented that could open portals to his mother's shower. He used this on the regular to spy on his mom naked for sexual pleasure.
In "Robot Revolution", Barry had a chick magnet, which was a giant magnet that attracted women to it in a literal sense. Barry brought up how he used this in the past to bring sexual partners his way, which got him in trouble with the law. Currently, he's under parole and turning on his chick magnet would get him in trouble. However, later in the episode, Barry was seen running through a strip club, carrying a woman on his chick magnet, exhibiting him violating his parole.
In "St. Pudchugger's Day", Barry invented a "Say Yes-atron", a ray gun that he can use to zap anyone who says "No" and turn it into a "Yes". He planned on using this to turn non-consenting victims into technically-verbally-consenting individuals he can have sex with.
In "The Adventures of Daddy O'Baggins", Barry performed an illegal abortion on Renzo, despite this being strictly outlawed all across Dome City by Renzo, himself. Barry assisted Renzo in breaking the law and having an unfair advantage over his other citizens that he didn't want other people to know about.
In "Flammily Reunion", Barry had kidnapped a woman he went on a date with and trapped her in a burlap sack. He also admitted later to having broken into a few people's homes and jerked off in front of them, while asphyxiating himself. Barry would later go on a date with a giant girl named Galaxia, who would consume planets rife with life and kill everyone and everything on it for food. Barry had reservations about her killing so many people but because he was in love with her, he hesitantly went along with letting her eat planets and even helping her with it. The worst example was near the end, when he went to Blarpod-13, a planet populated entirely by adorable cancer survivors, and covered it all in teriyaki. After which, Galaxia would stab the planet with a stick and roast it over a nearby sun before eating it entirely, killing all of the cancer kids inside.
In "Baz, Bangs, & Brains", Barry once again admitted to kidnapping women and called it a hobby.
In "Memory Wars", Barry went to an Adoraball game to get drunk and scream at minorities, proving to be a bit of a racist. Later, flashback saw Barry suggesting to Renzo that he kill his baby son with a loaded gun. It was also revealed that he had sold all of Scootie's human parts to other people around Dome City, not all of them for ethical reasons. One thing he did was con a blind couple with an amputee baby into purchasing Scootie's penis as a replacement for the baby's missing arm. Barry also walked into a hospital room stole a heart from a guy who was undergoing surgery.
In "War & Peace", Barry invented a sexual assault rifle, which was a massive revolver that shot out dildos. This got him in trouble with a lawyer. Barry later implanted a bomb in Zobo's dick that would go off if he ever indulged in any chaos. This scared Zobo and made him have to go off the grid to find someplace calm and peaceful, where he would never be disturbed by any chaos. There, he came across a cult of previous victims of Barry's bombs. Apparently, several people had addictions of their very own and Barry's "solved" them by implanting bombs into their genitals. All of these fear-stricken people gathered in the outskirts of town and lived in a cult of denial, literally worshiping Barry as a religious idol. Later, Barry told Zobo that he lied about the bomb and said he just needed to make Zobo think he had a bomb in his dick to help him kick his chaos addiction. When Zobo finally indulged in chaos again, the bomb went off in his dick, proving it was real after all.

Trivia[]

Barry Barris is a schizophrenic, who constantly hears voices in his head. This was exemplified best in "Baz, Bangs, & Brains", when we heard the voices of several different personalities in his brain, telling him to kill himself and having mental orgies in his mind. The most notable of these was "Pineapple Charles", a Southern folk who always claims to be "harder than uncooked rice".
- A running gag associated with his schizophrenia is making him the most self-aware of all the characters, being the most prone to breaking the fourth wall. Usually, when he breaks the fourth wall, this is played off as him being the only one in the room aware he's in a fictional cartoon, as seen in the episodes "St. Pudschugger's Day" and "Flammily Reunion", where he was the only one capable of hearing the narrator.
In "Robot Revolution", Barry suggested he was molested by his father as a kid, which, along with his mental breakdowns, could play in to what makes him such a messed up and perverted person today.
