~ Bartok leaving Rasputin out of fear - his redemption.

Bartok is the secondary antagonist in the 1997 Don Bluth feature film Anastasia. He is an albino white bat who is Rasputin's former minion. He was also the titular main protagonist in his own movie Bartok the Magnificent

He was voiced by Hank Azaria, who also played Gargamel in the live action movies of The Smurfs, Carlos in Hop and Kahmunrah in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.

Personality

At first, Bartok was ruthless, arrogant, stubborn, bitter, impatient, greedy, clumsy, cocky, cowardly, selfish, lazy, ignorant and mean and he was willing to help Rasputin kill Anastasia. Despite his mostly harmful nature, he does show that he can be pretty evil in his own right such as when he told Rasputin that Anastasia was fleeing, so he could kill her. He did this despite knowing she was a child at the time.

At the end of the first film of Anastasia, Bartok reformed and met a female bat who became his girlfriend and she starts to kiss Bartok.

During the events of Bartok the Magnificent, Bartok starts to become calm, funny, friendly, still cowardly, hilarious, still clumsy, kind-hearted, sweet-tempered, happy-go-lucky and nice.

Since Bartok reformed, it is unknown if he betrayed his boss or not.

Trivia

  • Bartok is Don Bluth's favorite character in Anastasia.
