Bashmaster is a supporting antagonist of the 2014 platform game Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
He is an ice pop-loving, hammer-wielding polar bear and member of the Snowmads who serves as the boss of Juicy Jungle.
Biography[]
Bashmaster was first seen enjoying a popsicle until the Kongs bump into him, causing him to accidentally toss it in the water where the piranhas devoured it. Enraged at the loss of his snack, Bashmaster immediately engages the Kongs in a fight.
For his attacks in his first phase, Bashmaster mainly attacks with his gigantic body and hammer, swinging and slamming the latter around (although it takes a while for him to pick it up again), and crashing down on foes with his body. Bashmaster can also summon blocks of ice to knock towards the heroes, with these sometimes carrying items if broken. Furthermore, the arena itself is a hazard, as sliding too close to the edge may result in the piranhas attacking.
In his second phase, Bashmaster gains a new attack of forming towers of ice blocks before charging towards the Kongs, requiring the player to jump on one of the pillars and leap past him. Sometimes when doing this, he may accidentally spin himself around and stun himself, creating an opening. His leaping attacks also start to create shockwaves in this phase.
In his third phase, Bashmaster's ice blocks are larger, his hammer creates shockwaves, and he can now hit blocks with his hammer to to use them as projectiles.
