Batang Divisoria is a supporting antagonist in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo Season 2. As their gang name implies they are criminals originated from areas nearby in Divisoria. The gang consist of 5 members headed by Bong. They act as rival gangs of Tanggol’s group Batang Quiapo alongside with Tondo Gang. Moreover, they also rival the group of prisoners in Celso’s cell where Tanggol and his gang are jailed. Aside from they are ruthless prison gangs in the corrections, they are also Chief Espinas’ mercenaries and vigilantes in her underground operations taking down high profile criminals and corrupt politicians for bounty.
Background[]
Not much is known about their origins, except that it is presumed that they have orchestrated crimes around Divisoria as their gang name implies. At some point in time they were arrested by their crimes and they’ve been selected by Chief Espinas as her bounty hunters. Their privilege of Chief Espinas gave them bigger ego and acted as the rulers of the cells.
During Tanggol’s transfer of cell to the corrections they started harassing Tanggol and his group. Instead of fighting back, they just spared them and they were ceased by their rival Celso. One day, they once again inflicted riot after a heated argument while playing basketball with their rivals in the cell but this was stopped by Chief Espinas and reprimanding them for causing havoc once again and failing their last mission. Upon Bong learns that Tanggol is having connection with his crush Bubbles, the gang once again provoked Tanggol and Celso’s cell mates except that Abner stopped Bong from provoking their rivals since they just received another warning.
They were assigned by Chief Espinas to assasinate Congressman Sevilla, only to be outnumbered resulting failure to their mission causing Bong to get shot. On the same night, some crew members incited riot in Tanggol’s cell causing Tanggol’s friend to be injured and Tanggol confined in the insolation room. They were once confronted by Warden and Macasantos for their failure and warned them that Chief Espinas has already replaced them to Tanggol’s group as her new mercenaries.
Later, Bong and his gang started the prison riot by shooting Dolores, Warden, Antonio and Celso as revenge for punishing them. Bong tries to rape Bubbles but is stopped by Tanggol. Tanggol and Bong get into an intense fight and Tanggol finally beats up. Tanggol’s group killed the rest of the group of Bong. However, Bong wakes up and attempts to shoot Tanggol but he takes the gun and shoots Bong, ending the prison riot.
Trivia[]
- They are the second rival gangs of Batang Quiapo being first are the Tondo Gang.
- In some scenes, they are shown having multiple unnamed members joining them in their actions such as their failed assassination attempt to Congressman Sevilla and riot in Tanggol’s cell. It is unclear and unknown if those unnamed members are officially member of Batang Divisoria or simply befriended the gang when they all became cellmates.
