Baxter is a supporting character in the adult animated musical dark comedy series Hazbin Hotel. He is a self-proclaimed mad scientist that worked alongside Sir Pentious, where the two would create various weapons and inventions, eventually leading to Baxter becoming an employee at VoxTek Enterprises. He now resides at the Hazbin Hotel with the intention of determining its authenticity in redeeming Sinners.
He is voiced by Kevin Del Aguila.
Personality[]
Baxter carries a high, condescending opinion of himself, believing himself to be a mad scientist worthy of respect. He often prefers to work in peace and gets easily agitated when he is interrupted by others. He also dislikes being compared or seen as a replacement to his former lab partner, Sir Pentious, who he ridicules, even after his death.
Unlike Pentious, Baxter appears to lack a sense of empathy, as he was willing to subject the Egg Boiz to cruel experimentation and was baffled at how Pentious left him over it. He also appears to have a low opinion of women, as he addresses Charlie and Cherri Bomb in derogatary terms, such as “wench” and “woman”.
Despite his anti-social behavior, he does appear to have form a genuine friendship with Niffty, in which he didn't mind spending time playing with and even helped fixed her bug band. Over time, he has grown to care for the staff at Hazbin Hotel as a whole, viewing them as his best friends for meeting his accommodation needs. He was more than willing to sacrifice his job at VoxTek for the sake of helping Charlie and the others in their goal of stopping Vox going to war with Heaven.
History[]
Little is known about Baxter's past as a human. It is believed that he had died at some point in the 1910s during a drowning incident, where a boat he was on had sunk down.
Baxter was then sent to Hell, where he would meet Sir Pentious. The two would become lab partners and work together in achieving their on becoming Overlords. As an expert in bioengineering, he created the Egg Boiz, along with other various technological advancements, in hopes of gaining the attention of the denizens of Hell.
At some point, Baxter and Pentious challenged the Overlord Zestial in an arena to show their talent. Baxter's creation had won him favors over Sir Pentious, which led to him being employed by Vox, having him work at VoxTek Enterprises as a scientist. Sir Pentious continued to work with him but eventually left when he deemed that Baxter's experiments were too cruel and unethical, leading to Baxter continue his work alone instead.

- Vivziepop originally considered to have Baxter's death occur during the sinkage of the Titanic, but opted to change it into a fictional approximation of it, in order to avoid being insensitive about the topic.
- His appearance is based on that of an anglerfish though interestingly, he carries a bioluminescent lure which is a trait only present on female anglerfishes.
- Voice actor Christian Frates did audition for voicing Baxter and in 2025, he says that in hindsight that he got rejected because it would be against his point of view for preferring obscure media.
