“ | Very well, then...upon my name, Beatrice, phantasm of all pilgrims, I promise it. | „ |
~ Beatrice to Atsuko |
“ | I'll say it for my own honor, but I didn't use any special abilities. Brainwashing or superpowers... … It would have been nice to have such a convenient power, but unfortunately, that's not the "adult" way. Yes. Hatred, anger, contempt, disgust——using those feelings of wealth, they have dominated children with lies and deceit. A simple but sure way. If it were you, you would know it well, right? … … In the first place, this borough was in a civil war before I came. The feelings of wealth towards each other were already deeply ingrained. ──I just used it. It's not that this is special. Isn't that a common sight? Yes… … If it's actually hate, Trinity might be stronger than here. I've just been moving that way. The aphorism that teaches modesty in life is twisted into a worthless void... … Strict self-reproach, guarding against the fall, distorts it into an unavoidable sense of guilt… … Distorting facts, concealing the truth, misrepresenting one's true intentions, encouraging hatred, fueling hatred, making others, others, others, others--forever, each other, other people. Paradise cannot be reached forever, so it can be a paradise. In such a hell, “adults” dominate, exploit, and prey on “children”. Yes-- Although it may be hell for some, this is a paradise where “adults” can feel at ease. So, would you understand me too? Sensei? | „ |
~ Beatrice's belief in "adults" |
“ | No, no, NO!!! I will NOT stand for this! How dare she play a song of mercy in MY territory! No, I cannot allow this!! Students must only sing curses of hatred... of contempt! Students must remain in a hell of mutual harm and contempt so that WE may exploit them! | „ |
~ Beatrice's Breakdown. |
Beatrice is a major antagonist in the 2021 roleplay RPG game, Blue Archive, serving as the overarching antagonist of the first half and the main antagonist of the second half of the Eden Treaty arc, and the overarching antagonist of the Where All Miracles Begin arc. She is a member of Gematria and was formerly the student council president of Arius Branch School. She manipulated Mika Misono and Saori Joumae into a massive war between Trinity and Gehenna.
The other members of the Gematria organization consider Sensei a kind of research object, and are not particularly hostile, Unlike other Gematria colleagues who protect the teacher for their own reasons, this one regards the teacher as an antagonist who must be eliminated.
Personality[]
“ | Gematria is a seeker of truth... Madness is our arch enemy, but Beatrice, you have lost your Gematria credentials. | „ |
~ Black Suit |
“ | Shut up. Don't talk to my precious students. You have brought children in hell with false teaching. I can never forgive you. | „ |
~ Sensei. |
Unlike the other members of Gematria, who have some sort of artistic integrity in their own way, Beatrice is embodiment of the extreme megalomaniac: extremely arrogant, narcissistic, immoral, overconfident, ruthless, cowardly and egotistical sociopath who obsessed from power. Above all, she is not the slightest amount of respect or consideration for colleagues. On the contrary, it was not enough to openly say to the other members, 'I'm not interested in the art you are pursuing' in front of these three people, the technology provided by Black Suit, the text interpreted by Golconde, and the precepts Mimesis by Maestro. They even committed arbitrariness, such as using the guardians without their permission and in a way they didn't want.
Even Maestro said, 'I don't remember giving permission to use my masterpiece at will, much less allowing it to be used in that way. Above all, when she blatantly angered him by saying, "Before we ask who owns the ownership, it's disgusting!" and exhaled life. In this way, she behaves in a way that goes as far as she feels like, without thinking at all about the future, as well as the teachers and students of Kivotos, whom she is hostile to, openly causing conflict with other Gematria members, and choosing only things that will make them hateful. Because of this, she was later counterattacked by Sensei and students, injured or injured, and other Gematria members who suffered from identity theft lost all their arrogance at her simple ignorant and reckless words and actions. The development was predicted that these three would conspire against each other and purify her while stabbing her in the back.
She indoctrinates her students with nihilism, brainwashing them into killers who don't fear death, but in reality she's a coward. She is very afraid of her students getting out of her control, and when the Kyrie eleison comes on the phonograph, she is shown listening to it and panicking that the Arius students she has brainwashed will revolt against her.
In the end, the plan is stranded by Sensei, Arius Squad, and Mika Misono, and the plan is completely ruined, and instead of becoming a high-ranking being who stole the mystery, she collapses as an ugly monster. It's a bonus that she was dragged away while being ridiculed by Golconde & Decalcomanie for playing a setup game that is no different than a folding screen in the progress of the story. To Gematria, the Iridescence is still a setting game worthy of analysis, so she was not expelled or purged from Gematria, but as a result of maximizing aggro against other members, I chose to commit only my own arrogant and reckless words and actions and arrogant acts. Maestro is hostile to her, Black Suit is lost, and even ridiculed by Golconde & Decalcomanie, it is a failed position. It's good if it doesn't appear as. In the end, her life, which was expected to be the final boss candidate by openly treating the members of Gematria as a keeper until Chapter 4, and scattering rice cakes foretelling the imminent destruction of Kivotos, now degenerates into a meaningless McGuffin.
Biography[]
Beatrice commanded the troops of the Arius branch school and ordered the squad to pursue Atsuko Hakari, the descendant of the lineage of student council presidents for Arius before Beatrice usurped them. In the end, Atsuko, who decided that there would be no chance of winning in the continued pursuit, chose to be captured by herself and instead offered Beatrice a promise that she would surrender and not pursue the rest of the squad any longer. Beatrice accepts the promise and Atsuko is sent away, but Beatrice has no intention of keeping her promise to Atsuko, and in the end, Saori Joumae, Misaki Imashino, and Hiyori Tsuchinaga are chased again.
After that, Seia Yurizono appears with the rest of the members at Gematria meeting she saw in her dream, where it is revealed that Beatrice owns the white basilica, which is the base of an autonomous branch of the Arius school, and that she, unlike the other members, is a teacher. strongly expresses the opinion that it must be removed as it is the biggest obstacle in its means of research. In response, Maestro replied that he didn't remember ever giving permission for her to use use it and openly expressed his displeasure, while Golconde & Decalcomanie also expressed skepticism, saying that the radical method is not good, but the Black Suit retorted that though he wanted to recruit the sensei into Gematria, he didn’t have the right to intervene and told her to do it herself.
However, at that moment, Seia made a noise in surprise, so Beatrice vacated her seat, saying that there was someone spying on her, and then came back into her dream to attack Seia, who had flowed into the basilica. It tells of the ritual that brings about the end of Kivotos.
As Saori, Misaki, and Hiyori continue to pursue the Arius members, they offer a conciliation plan, saying that they will allow Saori and Misaki to kill the sensei, and Hiyori to return to Arius territory on the condition that they betray Saori. However, there was no way for those who had already witnessed him to openly break his promise with Akko right on the spot in the prologue. Rather, they joined the teacher and created a situation where they infiltrated the district to rescue Akko.
In the middle of Chapter 4, Beatrice ended the civil war that broke out in Arius 10 years ago and rose to the position of student council president, and changed the motto "Vanitas vanitatum, et omnia vanitas (Vanity of vanities and all is vanity)", originally a virtue that teaches humility, to "Vanitas vanitatum, dixit Ecclesiastes; vanitas vanitatum, et omnia vanitas (Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity)." It turns out that Beatrice brainwashed the students of the Arius branch school and taught them to kill and hate each other, and any students who rebelled against this were suppressed with severe beatings. And after putting together the pieces of the puzzle of various situations, Saori eventually realizes the mission was just a trap for Beatrice just to secure the Chroma.
At that moment, Beatrice affirmed that she did trick the group and had them commit heinous crimes and control them through hatred while mocking the sensei, the Arius Squad and others, surrounded them with the Justina Council, and gave a final speech about her convictions as an "adult" before Kibo. He persuades him by telling him the truth about Toss. However, the sensei retorts that Beatrice insulted teaching and learning and will never forgive her as an adult. After hearing it, Beatrice mocked the sensei, saying he is no different from a child who supports the Treaty of Eden, and accepts it as a declaration of war, while officially declaring him as her enemy. And he said that if he could get to the basilica of Arius, he would make a decision there, and then he gave the order to the Justina Council to annihilate the group.
In the meantime, when Mika Misono, who was burning with vengeance, tried to kill Saori, she admired it from a distance and praised it. However, when Saori and Mika realized and apologized and the teacher forgave them, they said that this development was unacceptable and went along with carrying out the ritual to sacrifice Atsuko to the Chroma earlier than expected due to Saori breaking her end of the deal she made with Beatrice, and also to become a higher-ranking being with the Chroma. Then, as an absolute adult, the sensei insists that she will understand him. However, the sensei denies her logic announcing that he is neither a judge, a saviour, nor an absolute being, he is just a crutch of existence for the students. In return with the mysterious power that he began to take away from Akko, Beatrice declares that she will become the most sublime being meant to rule the world, undergoing a monstrous transformation with the power she took, frightening Hiyori and the other students.
Then, when Mika Misono and Koharu Shimoe play a song of mercy from the destroyed gramophone in the choir room, she is furious saying that such a song should not be played in her territory teaching the cause of hatred, but is told to shut up by the teacher who is also furious. In response, Beatrice tries to make Saori Jomae into her new sacrifice who stands at the forefront to protect everyone and try to destroy Beatrice's altar and she desperately calls in all the troops of the Justina Council, only for Mika Misono to draw them all away, and Beatrice eventually collapses without anyone's help.
Even after the squad managed to save Atsuko, Beatrice tries to continue with her evil plans, but Golcomte & Decalcomani appear and inform them that Beatrice's plan has failed, and that Beatrice is not the main character, nor the teacher's antagonist, and is just a stage set that she does not need to know, retrieving her. As a result of Beatrice's observation of the Chroma through her consciousness in the Eden Treaty, the Chroma was also observed by Kibotos through Beatrice.

Beatrice's Death.
Beatrice, who returned to the shame of being retrieved by Golconde & Decalcomanie with all plans in vain, did not just observe the Chroma and ended it, but went mad with anger at the teacher and told the Chroma to invade Kivotos in order to kill the sensei. The rest of Gematria, who know the dangers of the Chroma, confronts Maestro, who reproaches her for wanting to live even after putting Kibotos on the verge of destruction, and Golconde and Black Suit believe they didn’t intend for so much damage to happen, since Beatrice is merely a researcher and explorer. Criticizing Gematria's way of working as a member, Beatrice admits she only tried to build up her own sublimity and become a god of the new world, saying that she is willing to eliminate Kivotos, and even Gematria members, or put them under her feet. Fed up with her behavior, the Gematria members decide to expel her, believing that her Beatrice has been consumed by her own hatred and madness.
In response, Beatrice presses them to watch her mouth because the power of Chroma is flowing through her, but Gematria has already prepared a means to counter it from the moment Beatrice came into contact with it, and Golconde couldn't even resist it and left in fear. Beatrice self-destructs as the Chroma starts consuming her. In the end, Maestro ridicules Beatrice, who is dying in a pitiful way, saying that although she bumped into him a lot, she acknowledged one thing – that she disappeared without even leaving a will. The rest of Gematria said that they would discuss the vacancy later, and continued the meeting as if nothing had happened.

Trivia[]
- She is similar to the mythical Red Dragon of Apocalypse in that she has reddish skin, a goal of becoming an absolute with the power to destroy and create the world, hostility toward and attempts to kill her Jesus-motif Sensei, and deceives her students with lies. The red dragon of the Apocalypse is named Satan, Lucifer, and is a true Eden villain in that he is the serpent who tempted and corrupted the first humans in Eden. Like Beatrice, the Red Dragon also attempted to devour a woman's child, but was thwarted by God, and the dragon and her minions were defeated by Michael. The name Beatrice also appears to be derived from Beatrice Fortinari, a woman loved by the author of the Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri.
- Although she is, as Golconde says, merely a staging device and a MacGuffin for the reconciliation and redemption of Mika Misono and Saori Joumae, she is nonetheless one of the darkest and cruel villains in the Blue Archive universe. Her methods of abuse are hands-down the most brutal, using students as child soldiers for her own ego and attempting to genocide the entirety of Trinity and Gehenna, and her presence makes the story of Blue Archive dark and brutal.
