Beauregard Leander Salt, more simply referred to as just Salt, or as the "Phone Book Killer", is the overarching antagonist of the Crossed franchise.

Before C-day, he was a serial killer and cannibal who had a very destructive view of the world. During C-day, he was so insane that the infection did not affect him as he was overlooking all of the mania and insanity that ensued. When seeing how the crossed impulsiveness would lead to the extinction of humanity, Salt had come up with the plan to ensure the thriving of the Crossed and the downfall of mankind by creating a cult surrounding it.
