Rebecca Quinn, better known as Becky Lynch, is a female professional wrestler currently performing in WWE's Monday Night Raw. She has held the Raw (2) and SmackDown Women's Championships (4) and won the 2019 Royal Rumble.

Her villainous turn in the main roster began in SummerSlam 2018 when she turned heel on Charlotte Flair but quickly reverted back to a babyface. After a 15-month absence, she returned in SummerSlam of 2021, defeating Bianca Belair to win the SmackDown Women's Champion in 26 seconds, becoming the main antagonist of the Raw and SmackDown brand. Lynch lost the Raw Women's Championship to Belair at WrestleMania 38 Night 1.

Personality[]

Becky Lynch had been a babyface since her debut and it was on the October 16 edition of NXT that she confronted Sasha Banks over her attack on Bayley, which led to Sasha responding and telling Becky to look at herself in the mirror and ask herself what she really wants. On the following week, Becky appeared to save Bayley from an in-ring post-match attack from Sasha, only to attack Bayley from behind, turning Becky into a villainess. Since her betrayal, Becky has aligned with Sasha and assisted her in bullying Bayley and fighting against her and NXT Women's Champion Charlotte Flair. Becky defeated Bayley on more than one occasion in recent episodes of NXT, and she has blamed Bayley for her not winning the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Takeover: Rival. Becky was defeated by ally Sasha Banks in the Fatal Four Way match, which also included Bayley and Charlotte, and on the April 1 edition of NXT, Becky declared that she's going after the title, even though Sasha is the champion.

Becky is portrayed as an arrogant, trash-talking villainess on NXT. Her attack on Bayley clearly shows that she's capable of traitorous conduct.

Biography[]

NXT (2013–2015)[]

It was announced on April 8, 2013, that Quin had signed a two-year developmental contract with WWE and had relocated to Florida to report to their developmental league, NXT. Quin's new ring name, which she adopted on August 29th, is "Becky Lynch," and she made her professional wrestling debut in November at an NXT live event.

On the NXT episode airing on June 26, 2014, Lynch defeated Summer Rae to make her televised ring debut. Lynch and Bayley competed against "The BFFs" (NXT Women's Champion Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks) in a tag team match on the NXT episode airing on July 3. She competed against Charlotte in non-title matches for the following few months, losing three straight times. Lynch sided with Sasha Banks by attacking Bayley on the October 23 NXT episode after being instructed to establish her relevance. Called "Team B. A. E. When Banks cost Lynch a match against Bayley in February 2015, the alliance (Best at Everything) began to fall apart.

A fatal four-way match for the NXT Women's Championship took place on February 11 at NXT TakeOver: Rival, and Banks emerged victorious. Lynch took part in the match. Lynch defeated Charlotte and Bayley in a triple threat match on the NXT episode airing on April 22 to advance to the top of the NXT Women's Championship contender list. In an attempt to prevent herself from being promoted to the main roster, Lynch unsuccessfully challenged Sasha Banks for the championship on May 20 at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable. She also debuted a new appearance that resembled Chandra Nalaar from Magic: The Gathering. The widespread praise was given to both Banks and Lynch's performances in the match, which received favorable reviews from most critics.

Main Roster (2015–present)[]

After Stephanie McMahon demanded a "revolution" in the WWE Divas division, Lynch made her television debut on the July 13th episode of Raw alongside Charlotte and Sasha Banks. Banks sided with Naomi and Tamina, which sparked a fight between the three teams, while Lynch and Charlotte sided with Paige, who was engaged in a conflict with Team Bella (The Bella Twins and Alicia Fox). Paige, Charlotte, and Becky prevailed in the match between the three teams that was set up as a result at SummerSlam. After officially changing their name to PCB, the group continued to dominate Team Bella, culminating in Charlotte's victory over Nikki in the Divas Championship at Night of Champions.

The following months saw the beginning of Team PCB's demise. On the Raw following Night of Champions, Paige called Charlotte out for relying solely on her father Ric Flair to win the title and referred to Lynch as "irrelevant.". Lynch remained Charlotte's supporter throughout her Divas title defense up until Charlotte started acting like a heel by using her father to defend her crown.

On the January 4th episode of Raw, Lynch defeated Charlotte; as a result, Charlotte turned heel and attacked Lynch. On the January 7th episode of Smackdown and at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Lynch would make two unsuccessful runs at Charlotte for the Divas Championship.

In order to set up a tag team match at Fastlane, Lynch would then assist Sasha Banks in fending off Naomi and Tamina, Sasha's former stablemates. Team B would be defeated by Lynch and Banks. A. D. during Fast Lane. Lynch and Banks, who both desired the Divas Championship at WrestleMania, would, however, engage in conflict among themselves. For the position of the #1 Contender, they would compete, but Charlotte would step in. Because Charlotte won the title defense match at WrestleMania against Lynch and Banks, the Divas Title was retired and replaced by the WWE Women's Championship.

After WrestleMania, Lynch started a feud with Emma. She was defeated by her on the May 2nd episode of Raw, but three days later, on the May 5th episode of Smackdown, Lynch and Natalya got their comeuppance by defeating Emma and Charlotte in a tag team match. Emma's tag team partner from NXT, Dana Brooke, made her main roster debut on the May 9th episode of Raw by assaulting and attacking her during a backstage segment. She was defeated by Brooke three days later on the May 12 episode of Smackdown after Emma caused a distraction, and she repeated the incident on the May 16 episode of Raw. In a losing effort against Charlotte and Dana Brooke on June 19 at Money In The Bank, Lynch teamed up with Natalya. Natalya attacked Lynch after the match, turning heel in the process. Lynch lost to Natalya at Battleground.

Smackdown Live (2016-2019)[]

On July 19, Lynch became Smackdown Live's first female draftee. At SummerSlam, Lynch began to form an alliance with Naomi and Carmella against Natalya, Alexa Bliss, and Eva Marie, creating a six-woman tag team match. Eva was forced to withdraw, but Nikki Bella later came back to defeat Lynch's team at SummerSlam in Eva's place. For the first-ever Smackdown Women's Championship at Backlash, all 6 women would compete against one another in a 6-pack elimination challenge. Lynch triumphed and became the first Smackdown Women's Champion. Alexa Bliss, who triumphed over the opposition to earn a shot at the title at No Mercy, is her first opponent. The title match was rescheduled for November 8 SmackDown due to a legitimate injury. Lynch won in controversial fashion as a result of the referee missing Bliss' foot on the rope as she tapped out to the Dis-Arm-Her. Lynch, who was a member of SmackDown's women's team at Survivor Series, was the final contestant to be eliminated in the five-on-five match, which resulted in a defeat for Team Raw.

The SmackDown Women's Championship was lost by Lynch at TLC in a Tables Match. After Bliss faked an injury, Lynch won a title rematch against Bliss on December 13's SmackDown by count-out. The following week, Lynch defeated Bliss by submission while competing as "La Luchadora," and she then unmasked herself after the match. Lynch had a second chance to defend her title against Bliss on the December 27 "Wild Card Finals" episode of SmackDown Live, but she lost when a villain dressed as La Luchadora attacked her and distracted her. On the January 17 episode of Smackdown, it was revealed that the villain was Mickie James. Lynch, Bella, and Naomi joined forces to defeat James, Bliss, and Natalya at the 2017 Royal Rumble. Bliss had been pinned by Naomi before the trio's victory. Later, Lynch defeated James in the Elimination Chamber.

Following Money in the Bank, Lynch started a winning streak, winning non-title matches against Billie Kay, Sonya Deville, Peyton Royce, Mandy Rose, and Smackdown Women's Champion Carmella. Due to her victories, Lynch was given a title match at SummerSlam, which later evolved into a triple-threat match with Charlotte after she also defeated Carmella in a non-title match.

Lynch was hurt while taking part in a RAW invasion segment on the Monday Night RAW episode of November 12 during the week leading up to the 2018 Survivor Series pay-per-view. Lynch made her ring debut the following night during the SmackDown Live episode airing on November 13 and displayed the aftereffects of her injuries, including a bruised left eye. According to reports, Lynch was punched by Nia Jax and suffered a legitimate concussion as well as a facial fracture. Lynch was disqualified from her Survivor Series contest because of this. Lynch replaced Rousey to face Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey at the pay-per-view with longtime ally Charlotte during SmackDown Live.

Asuka was Lynch's opponent for the Smackdown Women's Championship at the Royal Rumble after she returned, continuing her feud with Rousey. Lynch fell short in the championship match but triumphed in the women's Royal Rumble match, earning her the chance to challenge any female champion she pleased. At WrestleMania 35, she selected to go up against Rousey. Lynch won the Raw and Smackdown Women's Championships in a winner-take-all Triple Threat match at WrestleMania by defeating Rousey and Charlotte in the main event.

Raw (2019-2020)[]

Lynch joined both brands temporarily after winning the women's championships for both members at WrestleMania. She soon started a rivalry for the Raw Women's Championship with recent addition Lacey Evans, while also pursuing her rivalry with Charlotte for the SmackDown Women's Championship. Lynch lost the SmackDown Women's Championship to Charlotte at Money in the Bank 2019 in May as a result of Evans' interference, but she was still able to retain against Evans that same night. Lynch then turned into a Raw brand-only product.

Over the course of June and July, she would continue to feud with Evans, retaining the title by first defeating him at Stomping Grounds 2019 and then joining forces with her boyfriend, Seth Rollins, who was the Universal Champion at the time, to defeat Evans and Baron Corbin at Extreme Rules 2019 in a last-chance winners-take-all match. Late in July and early in August, Lynch and Natalya started a feud in which they would both attack one another with different finishing submissions in the days leading up to SummerSlam 2019. To win the match and end the feud, Lynch defeated Natalya in a submission match at the event.

The following evening after SummerSlam, Sasha Banks made a surprise appearance after a brief absence. She attacked Lynch, turning heel, and rekindled a feud that had started in 2015 during their final NXT months and early months on the main roster. Despite losing the actual match to Banks after unintentionally hitting the referee with a steel chair at Clash of Champions 2019, Lynch was able to retain his title. Lynch defeated Banks in a Hell in a Cell match at Hell in a Cell 2019 to successfully defend and retain her title and put an end to the rivalry.

As a lead-up to Survivor Series 2019, where all three bands would compete for bragging rights, Lynch started a brief non-title feud in November with the female champions of the competing brands, Bayley (SmackDown Women's Champion) and Shayna Baszler (NXT Women's Champion). Baszler won the main match at the event by forcing Bayley to submit after losing to Lynch. Following the contest, Lynch attacked Baszler and drove him through the announce table to end the show.

Asuka and Lynch's feud from January of the previous year was resurrected in January. Asuka was able to defeat Lynch at the previous year's Royal Rumble event to retain her title at the time, raising doubts about Lynch's claim to be a great champion in the process of Lynch's seemingly unstoppable reign.

Lynch competed against Asuka at the Royal Rumble 2020 in an attempt to exact revenge and atone for the loss. She was successful in doing so by submission, which allowed her to finally atone for the year's worth of suffering and keep her title. After Ronda Rousey's previous 232-day reign, Lynch quickly became the longest-reigning Raw Women's Champion in the promotion's history.

Lynch revived her brief feud with Baszler in the months leading up to WrestleMania 36. Baszler had recently been promoted to the main roster after making an appearance in the women's Royal Rumble match. Following a vicious attack on Lynch during a January Raw episode, Baszler made her move up. After defeating and eliminating the other 5 competitors in the Elimination Chamber match at Elimination Chamber 2020 in early March, Baszler quickly rose to the top contender position.

Lynch successfully defended her title at WrestleMania by defeating Baszler by unexpected pinfall on the opening night of the event. Lynch's historic reign lasted more than a year as a result of her victory at WrestleMania. Lynch announced on the May 11th episode of Monday Night Raw that she had given up the Raw Women's title due to her pregnancy and that the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match, which Asuka won, was actually for the Raw Women's title.

Return (2021–present)[]

Lynch made her SummerSlam comeback on August 21, 2021, after a 15-month absence, defeating Bianca Belair in less than a minute to capture the SmackDown Women's Championship for the fourth time. Lynch was able to keep her title at Extreme Rules despite interference from a resurrected Sasha Banks. The SmackDown Women's Championship was then set to be decided in a triple threat match between the three women at the Crown Jewel event in October, where Lynch triumphantly defended her title. Lynch lost her first match since her comeback when Banks pinned her with a Backstabber on the SmackDown episode from October 15 as part of her feud with Belair and Banks.

Lynch was selected as a SmackDown Women's Champion for the Raw brand in the 2021 Draft. Lynch and Raw Women's Champion Charlotte Flair exchanged titles on SmackDown on October 22. As a result, Lynch was named the new Raw Women's Champion. Bianca Belair was selected for Raw as part of the 2021 Draft and carried on her conflict with Lynch. Lynch defeated Belair in a title match on the first episode of Raw, putting an end to the conflict. Lynch defeated Charlotte Flair in a Champion vs. Champion match at Survivor Series. competitive event. Ronda Rousey, the victor of the Royal Rumble, would face Lynch on the Raw episode airing on January 31, 2022, but Rousey dropped Lynch as she exited the ring. When Lita confronted Lynch, she issued a challenge to the Raw Women's Champion for a title match at Elimination Chamber, which Lynch accepted. This was Lynch's first-ever match and a dream match for her. When she was successful in keeping her title, a title match with Bianca Belair, the victor of the Elimination Chamber number one contenders match, would take place at WrestleMania 38. In the first night of the competition, Becky Lynch was defeated by Bianca Belair, ending her 162-day reign.

Asuka confronted Lynch on the Raw episode of April 25th, reigniting their feud. Lynch was defeated by Asuka on the Raw episode from May 16 and was unable to advance to the top contender position for the Raw Women's Championship. It became a triple threat match the following week after Lynch defeated Asuka and was added to her match with Belair at Hell in a Cell. Belair kept her title at the function. After losing to Asuka on the 20 June episode of Raw, Lynch was unable to advance to the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match. Lynch, however, was going to the event because he triumphed in the six-pack MITB qualifying match on the following episode of Raw. She tried to win the match at Money in the Bank, but she was unsuccessful. At SummerSlam, Lynch was unable to take back Belair's Raw Women's Championship, but she did embrace her following the match, making a fool of herself in the process. When Bayley made a comeback and was confronted by Belair, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky (previously Io Shirai), Lynch stepped in to help, permanently altering Belair's expression. Lynch was expected to be sidelined for a number of months after her match at SummerSlam because of a separated shoulder, according to a statement released by WWE on August 1 regarding the incident. She was attacked backstage during that night's episode of Raw by Bayley, Kai, and Sky, which rendered her virtually unwatchable.

Lynch made her return as "The Man" on the SmackDown episode airing on November 25. She was introduced as the fifth and final participant on Bianca Belair's team for the Survivor Series WarGames. Lynch performed a Double Diving Leg Drop from the top of the cage on Kai and Sky through a table, pining Kai to win the match, and Lynch's team won the event on November 26. Lynch entered the Women's Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble on January 28, 2023, when she was 15 years old. Before Bayley eliminated her, she defeated Kai and Sky.
