An enormous monster created by the Druids to fill an unknown agenda. It's completely made out of stone and iron ore, giving it a ton of natural defense.
~ Description of Bedrock.

Bedrock is a major antagonist from the Roblox game Adventure Story. It is an enormous golem that was created by the Druids for an unknown purpose, but then got out of control and started attacking everything in its path.

Appearance[]

Bedrock is enormous in size (about 4-5 times the player's height) and has bright green eyes. His body is made entirely of rock and (unseen) iron ore, with grass growing from some places, and he has two serrated horns on his head.

Personality[]

There's not much to say. Bedrock is just a mindless monster who wants nothing more than to destroy everything in its path. And it shows no signs of emotion other than anger. In terms of behavior, Bedrock acts quite strangely, it's hard to predict what it'll do since it usually does illogical and unrelated actions.

Biography[]

Shortly after being created by the Druids for an unknown purpose, Bedrock goes out of control and destroys the Druid Grove, causing the Druids to scatter all the way to Frogville Road. The people of Frogville, distraught, send an unnamed Adventurer to the Druid Grove to set things right.

While continuing his destruction in Druid Grove, Bedrock comes across the Adventurer and attacks him with a rock without thinking, as it always does. After a tough fight, Bedrock eventually loses and is destroyed by the Adventurer. Upon defeat, it drops a magical stone, which the Adventurer will later use to help him on his journey.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Supernatural Strength and Durability: In direct proportion to his size and body, Bedrock is much stronger than a normal human and is also durable. This is proven by the fact that it was able to break almost all of the Adventuer's bones with a single kick, and taking almost no damage from physical attacks.
  • Supernatural Endurance: Although it did take damage by the huge blows it received during the battle, it remained on his feet and kept fighting without losing its composure.
  • Earthquake Generation: Bedrock stamps its foot and creates an earthquake effect that repeats every turn, damaging everyone on the battlefield (including his own minions).
  • Damage Empowerment: Bedrock punches itself several times, increasing its attack damage for 2 turns.
  • Healing Sleep: Bedrock will fall asleep for 3 turns, gaining health and mana upon waking up.
  • Unpredictability: Bedrock has no specific combat style or order of actions, surprising the Adventurer by making different and unrelated moves each time.
  • Extreme Intimidation: Sometimes, during the the battle, Bedrock will shout "NO USE ITEM" at the Adventurer, scaring him. However, if the player chooses to use an item, Bedrock will prevent it with an earthquake.
  • Throwing Ability: Bedrock seems to be an unexpectedly good thrower, being able to throw rocks with great speed and accuracy.

Trivia[]

  • Bedrock is technically the second antagonist (first being The Bandit King) that engages in direct dialogue with the player. However, it only speaks when triggering its Boss Cheat.
    • It is also the second antagonist to have a dialogue, but it can only be seen when a player uses an Item, with the other being The Bandit King.
  • Bedrock, along with Golems and The Bandit King, are the only enemies to have immunities.
  • Due to his random actions, Bedrock can sometimes start hitting himself even when he has 3 health or less, resulting in his own death.
  • Bedrock's throwing ability may be a reference to the scene in Attack on Titan where the Beast Titan (Zeke Yeager) attacks the Survey Corps by throwing rocks.
