Beetle is the secondary antagonist of the live-action movie, Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado.
He is the right hand man of Camila the Crusader who was hired to assist her in acquiring Sol Dorado so she could use it to wish back her career on the promise of all the gold he can carry.
He is portrayed by Christian Gnecco Quintero.
Biography[]
Beetle was hired by Camila the Crusader to help her find Sol Dorado so that she could get her career back. However, Beetle was more interested in the treasure. In order to get Beetle to cooperate, Camila told him that he would be allowed as much gold as he could carry. With this, Beetle assisted in the digging for the Emperor's Bracelete which was needed to find Sol Dorado. Upon finding it, he alerted Camila only for Dora to snatch the bracelet while he did so.
The two of them chased after Dora's group into the forest where Beetle was prepared to follow the first set of footprints he saw. Camila stops him and points toward a different set of print, noting that Dora was trying to throw them off the scent. They eventually reach the first temple to find that Dora had already completed the first trial. Camila sends Swiper to track Dora's group down, allowing them to catch up with them. Camila orders Beetle to cut Dora's arm off for the bracelet which Beetle is more than happy to do. However, Diego quickly reveals that he's the one wearing the bracelet now, prompting Beetle to try and cut his arm off instead only for the bracelet to protect Diego, prompting Camila to take Dora's group with her while leaving Dora behind. Upon reaching the final temple, Dora catches up and frees her group while detaining Camila's gang. Camila and Beetle manage to escape and follow them inside where they soon come to a room full of treasure.
Camila starts having a change of heart and works with Dora to solve the room's riddle which involves putting the treasure on the scales. Beetle becomes angered about this and fights Camila for the treasure. When he is overwhelmed, he grabs Sonny and throws him on the last scale while grabbing as much treasure as he can before running off. He doesn't get far as the way he came crumbled, resulting in him running off the bridge to his death.
