Belial is a major antagonist of the manga Record of Ragnarok Forbidden Legend - Apocalypse of The Gods, a spin-off of the manga/anime series Record of Ragnarok.
Belial is a Demon-God of the Abrahamic Pantheon as well as an Outer God who earned the nickname Untouchable. He is also one of the 16 Gods who participate in the Apocalypse Tournament to win the last place in the Gods Fighters of the Ragnarok Tournament and the possibility of creating a new law in the Constitution of Valhalla.
Appearance[]
Belial is a humanoid-looking Demon, with dark skin and exposed veins all over his body. He has disheveled hair, dark eyes with light pupils, pointed ears and sharp teeth. He is very muscular and wears only dark pants torn at the ends and a belt with a buckle in the shape of a buffalo skull. He is barefoot.
Personality[]
Belial is a Demon who firmly believes in his and others' freedom and that everyone has the right to do what they want, in fact he approved the behavior of Sun Wukong of wanting to save Humanity, even though Belial wants to destroy, just because he was doing what he wanted. To follow this philosophy, Belial does not care about anyone and is ready to invade the palaces of his superiors, such as Zeus, and attack his personal guards. He doesn't know what movies are, which is why Belial is amazed when he sees one.
Biography[]
Belial is a Demon-God of the Abrahamic Pantheon as well as an Outer God who earned the nickname Untouchable.
After the proclamation of the Ragnarok Tournament, Belial participates in the meeting of the Gods' Council in which Zeus announces the Gods Fighters that would fight in the Ragnarok Tournament representing the Gods. When many Gods become angry at the absence of their names, Sun Wukong points out that one name is missing from the list, and it is at that point that Zeus announces the Apocalypse Tournament between 16 Gods to win the last place in the Gods Fighters and the possibility of inserting a new law into the Constitution of Valhalla.
Belial also participates, and his opponent in the Round of 16 will be Leviathan. At the end of the second match of the Round of 16, during which Sun Wukong easily defeated Prometheus, Belial invades the Olympus Palace and, after defeating the guards, enters the projection room of Zeus where he first witnesses Wukong announcing that he will save Humanity in case of victory in the Apocalypse Tournament, a behavior approved by Belial as he claims that a God does what he wants, and immediately after observes a projection of the fight between Zeus and Kronos in the Titanomachy Tournament. Here, however, he is joined by Zelos and Nike, two guards of Zeus who are in charge of ensuring that the Ragnarok Tournament takes place regardless, who threaten him, but Belial is not afraid and attacks them, apparently killing them.
Powers and Abilities[]
Overall Abilities: As a Demon, Belial possesses physical abilities far superior to those of any ordinary Human. His body cannot be damaged by mortal weapons, however it can still be damaged by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and Divine Weapons. For the same reason, Belial is unable to die due to old age.
Godly Speed and Strength: Belial possesses such speed that he can move from one place to another quickly without his opponent realizing what has happened. He also possesses such great physical strength that he can block a sword with just one finger.
Trivia[]
- Belial, called the "Evil One", is a powerful Demonic Mythological figure of the Old Testament and, in general, of all the ancient Jewish tradition. This entity, most likely belonging to the ranks of the Seraphim, represents the Devil himself, Samael, the adversary par excellence, much better identified with the image of the Serpent who tempted Eve, exactly as happened for the Demonic Mythological figure of Asmodeus.
