Belinda is a major antagonist in the television series Sonic Boom. She is a villainous resident of Hedgehog Village who commits various evil acts against the city, whether that be by assisting her husband or doing them herself.
She was voiced by Colleen O'Shaughnessey.
Appearance[]
Belinda is a humanoid goat with tan fur and large horns. She wars a green dress with a yellow necktie. She is often seen wearing a large strawhat. She has brown shoes and, like many characters in the series, wears white gloves.
In the episode "Sticks and Amy's Excellent Staycation," she uses Charlie's mech, which is a large grey battle suit with blue and yellow accents. the mech has giant hands with five claw like fingers on each. It has a small hole in the upper torso so that the user can see outside.
At the end of the same episode, Charlie gives Belinda a jetpack. Much like the mech, the jetpack is grey with yellow accents. Most noticable, it has four large insect-like wings on the back.
Personality[]
Belinda's most prominent character traits are her wrathfulness and sadism. She is very quick to anger and often enjoys violence and villainy. She is noticably more cunning than Charlie, and is often the one who comes up with his plans.
Despite her sadistic personality, she does care about some people. There have been many instances where she was affable to Charlie, and she does mention that she cares about her unseen mother.
Relationships[]
Charlie[]
Belinda and her husband Charlie have a complicated relationship. Charlie is timid and shy, whereas Belinda is angry and outspoken. Obviously, this causes disagreements between the two, and there are often times where she it outright hostile towards him. However, she does seem to care for him, and she liked the idea of the two being villains as a couple.
Knuckles the Echidna[]
While he was feeling sad about being the last of the echidna species, Knuckles briefly became Charlie and Belinda's son. Charlie and Belinda, however, did not care about Knuckles at all, and were simply using him as part of a plan to destroy Team Sonic. Since she had no personal hatred towards Knuckles, Belinda was fully able to keep her composure around Knuckles. This is unlike Charlie, who tried to attack Knuckles at one point. After the plan failed, Belinda ended her facade, and when back to being openly hostile to Knuckles.
Trivia[]
- Belinda was unnamed in her first appearance, and didn't receive a name until Sonic Boom's second season.
- Belinda's character model is a recolor another character in the series, Lady Goat.
- This is referenced in the episode "Sticks and Amy's Excellent Staycation," in which Belinda mentions not liking Lady Goat's appearance
