~ Belome |
Belome is a minor antagonist in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake. He is a carnivorous, dog-like monster that is capable of creating evil clones of people by swallowing them and spitting them back out. He also likes to turn his victims into scarecrows when fighting them.
Biography[]
Belome was first mentioned by Mallow, who told Mario to beware of him, because the former's grandpa, Frogfucius, told him to do so, but he didn't know who Belome was. He was first seen at the end of Kero Sewers, when Mario interacts with him, Belome stands and does not move while Mallow goes around him to see what is he actually. However he surprises them by laughing, Belome calls them snack and attacks them, progressing to boss fight, after he is defeated he told them to beware the flood before disappearing, possibly teleporting. This causes the switch he is standing on to be released, opening the floodgate that sweeps Mario and Mallow into Midas River.
He is re-seen as the boss of his own temple, where it's located in Land's End, his temple is made of bricks in gold color and has statues of himself where are there notes he wrote. There are two notes, to get the first one the player must correctly interact with his statues in order, where he reveals where he hides the secret items, and path it, the second one is hidden in one of his statues mouth, where he expresses his hunger. He is also mentioned by another character who reveals the location of him and Monstro Town.
Just like in Kero Sewers, Belome is seen at the end of his template where are same doors behind him, when Mario interacts with him, Belome calls him tasty and attacks. This is where his second boss fight takes place, after some time of battling, Belome mentions he does not forget the taste and talks about his cloning ability after one slurp, he then proceeds to show the player by devouring one of his characters, he comments their taste before he spits them out and creates a clown. The fight continues normally till the Belome is beaten, where he gets hungry again and says he has to go home for dinner, where he teleports again, but before that he gives the player a goodbye.
