~ Belzeus giving orders to Brighton. |
Belzeus is a member of the Warp Monarch High Council and the main antagonist of Chouseishin Gransazer. He is the leader of the Warp Monarch's Earth Invasion Force and the one who caused the war in the first place by tricking the members of Warp Monarch into thinking that the humans are descended from the Bosquito race. His real goal is to conquer Earth so he can gain a vital place in ruling over the universe.
He was portrayed by the late Takashi Taniguchi.
History[]
Belzeus spoke to Logia as he was drifting through space, offering him the power to get revenge on the Gransazers if he destroyed the Crystal Slab, in order to prevent anyone from learning the truth. Logia agreed and Belzeus upgraded DaiLogian before sending him back to Earth. Once Logia had destroyed the Crystal Slab, Belzeus remotely hijacked DaiLogian and used it to attack the Gransazers, but Logia was able to disable Belzeus's upgrades and retake control.
Belzeus then sent Luka to Earth and tricked her into using her life force to bring back the last Bosquito, plotting to have it wipe out humankind and multiply in order to further motivate the Warp Monarch to attack Earth in full fury. When the Wind Tribe was able to incapacitate the Bosquito, Belzues made her give more of her life force to it so it break free. While the Bosquito was able to multiply, all of the Bosquito were destroyed by the Gransazers before they could threaten humanity.
While the Warp Monarch took three days to prepare for their attack, Belzeus sent Brighton down to Earth to locate the Communicator, a Gransazer capable of communing with Warp Monarch's Will, under the guise of locating the descendant of the Bosquito. After Brighton scanned each of the Gransazers, Belzeus appeared to Brighton as a hologram to check up on his progress. Brighton tells him that the Communicator (Ran) has been identified and that he will bring her to him. However, Belzeus orders him to kill her instead.
Belzeus later appears to Brighton again, not pleased by the slow progress Brighton had made in his mission, and reminds how important it is that he kills the Communicator as soon as he can.
After Brighton failed and Ruby came to Earth to tell the Gransazers the truth, Belzeus instructed Gorgion to kill Ruby before going after Ran, reminding him that they cannot allow them to report to the Warp Monarch about their activities. Gorgion then asks Belzeus what he intends to do about Ran, but Belzeus assures him that he has already begun thinking about his next plan and tells him to focus on eliminating Ruby.
After Gorgion fails his first attempt, Belzeus opts to give him one last chance and tells him to summon Cabyron down to Earth to provide cover. As Cabryon rampaged Belzeus contacted the Gransazers and gloated about how they wouldn't be able to save the Earth. The Gransazers summoned their Chouseishin to battle Cabryon, but Cabryon overpowers all of them, forcing DaiSazer to decombine and crippling Gruntras. After Gorgion succeeded in killing Ruby with a suicide attack, Tenma attempted to leave Earth to meet with the Warp Monarch leadership but was shot down by Cabryon.
Once Cabryon defeated and disabled each of the Chouseishin, Belzeus arrived on Earth to kill Ran himself. The Gransazers all try to stop him, but Belzeus defeats them all before making his way to Ran. Just as Belzeus was about to kill her, Ran's powers as the Communicator finally manifest and allow her to contact the Warp Monarch's Will, revealing that the humans are not the descendants of the Bosquito and exposing Belzeus's lies and manipulations. Upon hearing the truth and realizing they've been tricked, the Warp Monarch allow the Gransazers to deal with Belzeus. Belzeus attempts a last stand and orders Cabryon to destroy the Gransazers, but the Gransazers summon a supercharged DaiSazer and use it to destroy Cabyron and the Garban mothership. His plans foiled, Belzeus is captured by Logia soon after and brought on board DaiLogian to be taken to the Warp Monarch High Council to face judgement.
