Benito Mussolini is a supporting antagonist in the Looney Tunes WWII war propaganda cartoons, with his most notable role being the one in "The Ducktators". He is a parody of the real-life Italian prime minister who led the National Fascist Party in WWII as a member of the Axis Powers, along with Adolf Hitler and Hideki Tojo.
Biography[]
In "The Ducktators", Benito Mussolini was present in the audience during one of Adolf Hitler's speeches and appreciated his ideas. Mussolini started following Hitler's way of thinking and began making his own speeches. In Italy, Mussolini stood on his podium and made an announcement to his followers, of which he had just one - a little chick chained to a ball, and the only reason the chick applauded was Mussolini demanding them to do so. Hitler and Mussolini met up at a Peace Conference, where they both signed a peace treaty only to immediately shred it up later and back out on their word by beating up everybody else in the room. When Hideki Tojo joined them, the Axis Powers were formed and they all trampled over the Dove of Peace, who was against fighting. He wasn't against fighting anymore after that because once the Axis Powers went too far, he resorted to violence and started beating them all up. Mussolini specifically, he kicked in the face multiple times until he went unconscious. Then he gave him one last punch, making him fall over. After the war was over, Mussolini's decapitated head was preserved on a plaque above the Dove's fireplace, along with the heads of Hitler and Tojo.
Trivia[]
- While Mussolini is portrayed as having been inspired by Hitler's ideas in "The Ducktators", it was the other way in real life, with Hitler finding inspiration in Mussolini's theory of fascism.
