Benizome Jellyfish is a minor antagonist of A Certain Magical Index: Genesis Testament, serving as a major antagonist of the Operation Handcuffs Arc and a minor character in the Post-Handcuffs Arc.
She is an eccentric yet immoral paparazzo working in Academy City's dark side who seeks to make her mark on history and become the greatest journalist by getting a world changing scoop.
Appearance[]
Benizome is a young woman in her early twenties. She has short black hair which is in a bob cut and red eyes. She wears a gaudy brown cowboy hat with a jellyfish pin, a bright red Chinese dress with a thin lace material and a pair of brown cowboy boots. Her dress contains various Japanese, Western, and Chinese elements. She also carries a silver duralumin case which diagonally hangs from her body.
Personality[]
Benizome Jellyfish is an enthusiastic paparazzo who desires to get the perfect scoop that will grant her fame and recognition. While she is shown to be quite friendly, cheerful and outgoing, Benizome is a very murderous and morbid sociopath who will happily gun down anyone if she thinks it'll get her a great photo. Her favorite type of scoop is capturing the reactions when someone in a group of people is suddenly killed in an incredibly violent and brutal manner. She's more than happy to do the killing herself.
Despite this, Benizome is capable of realizing when she is about to bite off more than she can chew, as shown when she was confronted by Ladybird and Hasuu Kihara. She can also be merciful at times, seen when she willingly spared Shiage and Rikou, though this was most likely done on a whim.
Biography[]
Benizome's background prior to her introduction in the series is largely unknown. What is known is that she is a paparazzo who worked on the Dark Side of Academy City for quite some time.
Abilities[]
Photography Mastery: As a paparazzo, Benizome is an extremely skilled camerawoman. She can even use special photography equipment to aid with her marksmanship.
Marksmanship: Benizome is a highly skilled markswoman, being extremely capable of handling shotguns, sniper rifles, handguns etc. She carries a large amount of firearms in her silver duralumin case, and uses special shooting equipment such as stun guns, electron beams, and terahertz waves to accurately aim at targets even through cloth.
Coin of Nicholas: Benizome could use the Coin of Nicholas, a spiritual item that grants wishes on Christmas Day only. The coin is able to cause any designated phenomena and ignore all probability in order to grant the wish with a 100% success rate. Benizome mainly used her coin to counter the effects of other coins.
