~ Lilliann when the player awakens Benny. |
“ | And now I will lay me down to sleep. Pray the Lord, my soul to keep. If I die before I wake, pray the Lord, my soul to keep... | „ |
~ Benny when the player collects the Bible. |
Benjamin Weaver, better known as Benny, is one of the five main antagonists (alongside Tim and Tom, Lillian and Caleb) in Wick and its DLC Wick: No Way Out. Benny is the son of John and Mary Weaver, and also by far the largest and oldest child of the Weaver Family.
Appearance[]
Benny is a fourteen year old boy with a tall stature. He is by far the largest and oldest child of the family. He looks more human than his siblings, lacks scars, and like his siblings, possesses wounds. Benny wears a striped yellow and orange shirt and blue overalls. He has short brown hair that is combed to the side, and his teeth also look crooked.
Biography[]
Benjamin Weaver was born on Mount Todd like his siblings. He is the son of John and Mary Weaver, and the oldest sibling of Caleb, Tim, Tom, and Lillian.
In the New Archive, Benny usually went to church with Mary, Caleb, and Lillian every Sunday. Also in the New Archive, in an interview with Old Man Edwards, he reveals that his uncle was acquainted with Benny in Pine Creek Summer Camp and recounted that Benny often preached about twin brothers stolen in their sleep by the devil. Benny also said that they would come back for him. In the audio of the cross, the voice of young Benny walking in the forest alone, he sounds frightened as he recites the prayer Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.
The player will encounter Benny or Tom from 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM in Wick.
In the DLC, No Way Out, the player will encounter Benny if they've picked one of his personal items.
Personality[]
Little is known of what Benny’s personality was like as a living person although it’s mentioned that he went to church every Sunday with his mother, brother and sister, suggesting he was very religious just like his mother, he also seemed to be easily afraid as he was scared of being in the forest alone when he was younger as heard in an audio file and feared that two twin brothers (likely Tim and Tom) would come for him, he was also fond of sleeping which is reflected in his game mechanic. As a ghost, Benny is perhaps the most wrathful and volatile of all the ghosts with him getting angry when he’s woken up by candle light, which may imply that it gives him bad memories, like his siblings, Benny does not tolerate intruders in the forest and gives them a brutal death although he seems to sympathize with other lost souls like them as seen when he and his siblings surround Sam at the end of 5AM.
Powers and Abilities[]
The player will find Benny sleeping at a random place on the map by his snoring. Unlike the other children, Benny doesn't act much like them until the player wakes him. If the player wakes Benny, he can overpower the player and kill them very easily.
Superhuman strength: Benny is very strong. When he is woken up, he will slam the ground and start to chase the player. While he's chasing the player, the camera will shake. In one of his death animations, he will grab the player and punch them with such force that they will fly several meters away.
Trivia[]
- It is possible that Benny is dyslexic due to him flipping the "E" in the spelling of his own name.
- Benny is the only child in Wick that has always had his name.
- Benny is arguably the most dangerous enemy in the game.
