Benjamin Marx is one of the minor antagonists of The Mentalist TV-show. He is a financial broker, who turns out to be a thief. He was played by Aaron Lohr.
Biography[]
Benjamin worked for a company named Dennis Victor. He stole money from his company. One day, his colleague Antonio Castro began to suspect something. Having learned that Antonio visited a club and wanted to join it, he gave Antonio a spirit and, in this state, he, obeying Benjamin, completely undressed, handcuffed his hands and climbed into a coffin, where Benjamin subsequently left him to die. Benjamin spent the next month trying to pin his thefts (which cost the company a pretty penny) on Antonio. Soon, Antonio's decomposed corpse was found. CBI consultant Patrick Jane saw through Benjamin and threw him into the coffin. He forced him to confess. Since the confession was beaten out by force, it was not considered evidence, and since there was no other evidence, Benjamin remained unpunished. Moreover, Patrick himself was fired from the CBI. This led to Patrick meeting Lorelei Martins. However, Patrick was soon reinstated. He felt that other police agencies were watching him. He made up a fake list of suspects (including Benjamin and other criminals he could not prove guilty (like Richard Haibach)) and hung it on the wall. Robert Kirkland broke into his closet and stole the list. He tortured Benjamin, but was unable to get him to confess that he was Red John. Benjamin died from torture.
