Benjamin Wade is the supporting antagonist of the Criminal Minds episode "Outlaw". Wade is a mass murderer and former partner of homicidal biker William Duke Mason, Manson abandoning Wade to continue his spree with Lester Turner.
He was portrayed by Blake Heron.
Biography[]
Wade met Mason through their shared chapters of bikers and became Mason's mentor in their eventual crime spree. In 2009, they traveled to Las Vegas, New Mexico, and planned to rob the local Burger Corral while killing all the employees, attacking the business at closing hours. After Wade and Mason broke in, they beat the four teens in attendance into submission, blindfolded and gagged them, and tied them down with their belts, underwear, and cut wires. While the two boys, Nelson Gonzalez and Jon Gray, were at the cash register, Wade and Mason took Jenny Tanner and Maria Serrano into a back room and raped them both. All the teens were killed with a shotgun, and the business was set on fire to cover the duo's tracks. They struck again in El Paso, Texas, in 2010, shooting a gas station clerk dead. They took too long to set the business on fire, and the police arrested them both. Wade and Mason were incarcerated at Texas State Prison, Wade taking the life imprisonment sentence while Mason got only six years by blaming Wade for everything. Mason later abandoned Wade to gravitate toward Turner, an inmate in for rape Mason protected, Mason making him an accomplice in a later killing spree by the time they were both released.
Wade was questioned in prison, making a poor impression on the FBI by sexually harassing Agent Tara Lewis. They inform him they figured out he was the mastermind of the Burger Corral massacre. Threatening his prosecution in New Mexico in the event he had a chance at parole, Wade gives in and admits to the massacre. He names Mason as his previous partner and Turner as Mason's new partner, explaining their relationship in prison. As Wade psychoanalyzed their dynamics from watching them, Wade warned the team Turner was the looser cannon and to watch out for his intent of dying in a shootout. Wade remained in prison to serve the rest of his sentence.
